  1. Tyre recommendations for S650 Mustang GT

Ok, so I'm not comparing apples to apples here, but the Pirelli's Ford used on S550 were diabolically bad, virtually undrivable in the wet or cold roads. When I bought new wheels, I took the opportunity to move to Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. These completely transformed the car, suddenly I have...
  2. Everyday driving configuration

That and a digital speed reading, which would be handy due to the odd speed increments Ford chose.
  3. Aussie S650 Paint protection and detailing thread

I have every brush known to man and none of them will fit completely behind the front calipers. The only ones that go close are the EZ-Detail/Maxshine bristle type. EZ Detail Wheel Brush - Detailing Shed...
  4. Everyday driving configuration

After start up, double tap of the lane keep, double tap of the drive mode steering wheel button to activate custom mode. This was my early selection; Normal base driving mode, Normal dampers, Comfort steering, DSC/TC on, Track exhaust. I've now programmed the favorite button for track...

Koch Chemie Top Star TS Up until a few years ago, I would apply interior dressings on a regular basis. I'm not sure how I discovered it, but my favorite became 303 Protectant for its barely-there appearance. For some reason, I also found it easier to work with compared to the alternatives, it...
  6. Aussie S650 Paint protection and detailing thread

Looks as if it didn't get enough paint at the factory.
  7. My Mustang Journey

Mines done the exhaust pop from new, so I'm looking forward to more of it once I get some kms on it. With the 10-speed, you can get it to pop on decel as it shifts down the gears, especially if you lift your foot off the brake at juuuust the right moment..............pop-pop. Very fun game to...
  8. Aussie S650 Paint protection and detailing thread

Koch Chemie Motorplast MP This is another one of those in-demand products from Koch Chemie that was very hard to get for a while there, and when it returned, it commanded a $30 price premium. Since then, the price softened but was still too expensive for what it was. Now though, at $25.95...
  9. Aussie S650 Paint protection and detailing thread

I hope my responses don't come across condescending, certainly not my intention. I was where you are at the moment and learnt in a similar way, asking questions and doing my research. This included towels because I used to ration them, they were a significant investment for me at the time...
  10. Aussie S650 Paint protection and detailing thread

Leave it with me. One thing I will say, I went looking for specs on those Aldi towels and found reference to a 90% Polyester, 10% Polyamide blend. That is probably why you feel the need to clean them 4+ times before use. When they bump up the polyester, that takes down the absorbency rate, so...
  11. My Mustang Journey

I certainly wouldn't touch the exhaust tips on yours, they are simply perfection on the Darkhorse.
  12. My Mustang Journey

My S550 had the Borla resonated H-pipe, so I'd probably go for an X-pipe this time for a different tone. My S550 was a 2016 model, so it really needed to be modified, I'd say it was quieter than the Active in Quite mode. Having said that, I think I'll be leaving the S650 alone.
  13. Aussie S650 Paint protection and detailing thread

Nothing like the first wash! An important bonding moment for sure.
  14. My Mustang Journey

Comparing my S550 with the Borla Touring, found the removal of the factory resonator, it balanced out the sound from engine to exhaust tips. With my unmodified S650, I find the noise is heavily skewed to the rear. As you say, the Active Exhaust is plenty loud, so I think there would still be a...

Koch Chemie All-round Surface Cleaner ASC As the name suggests, ASC was designed to be used across multiple interior and exterior surfaces. Compared to the surfactant heavy cleaners such as Pol Star or Green Star, ASC is much milder and will deliver a streak-free finish. Koch Chemie (ASC)...

The plan for today was to try a few of the new Koch Chemie products outside of my normal washing routine. Those products being Active Foam, Ceramic Effect Shampoo and Quick & Shine. The test subject being the mildly dirty Wildtrak. To start, I mixed up some Active Foam. In the past, Active Foam...
  17. DFB5.0's Obsessive Car Detailing Flow Chart

This is how it tends to end up on the wheels (and ground) because of the foaming spray head.
  18. My Mustang Journey

As a family member said to me when I picked up mine after a 2+ year wait........................"and about bloody time!" A well-deserved reward for such a long wait. From memory, we were ordering our cars at about the same time, you having decided to switch your order to an S650 instead of an...

Black would team in with the rest of the black accents on the car. I think if you did the bronze, you would do the bronze badge set to go with it.
  20. DFB5.0's Obsessive Car Detailing Flow Chart

Yeah, be careful with it. It's not going to strip a good ceramic coating, but don't go doing something else while it's on the tires. That said, I've used it on and off over since it was released on coated and non-coated wheels and haven't had a problem. What I do with ReTyre is to spray it into...
