Ultra H2O vs MTM PF22.3 – What’s Different, What’s Better? As a naturally analytical person, I love a good head-to-head comparison. Having used MTM foam cannons for six years now, I was keen to see how this new TRC foam cannon stacked up against what I'd call my former benchmark. Now, I say...

A clay bar is useless for removing mineral deposits, especially once they have etched the clearcoat. If you don't neutralize those minerals, they will keep etching deeper and deeper into the paint and will continue to resurface on hot days. In this case, you need to use a water-spot remover as...

Ultra H2O Foam Cannon – First Use Following on from my first look at the Ultra H2O range, it's time to put the foam cannon to work. Before any getting started, there's a short setup checklist worth running through — nozzle orifice, inlet plug, pickup hose — so that's where we'll start before...

The Rag Company Ultra H2O Foam Cannon Disclaimer – This isn’t a sponsored review, I purchased this foam cannon at full retail with my own money. From the moment it was unveiled at SEMA at the end of 2025, TRC's Ultra H2O range caught my attention. The lineup covers a short gun, a 21-inch wand...

If you've followed me for a while, you'll know detailing tyres is my thing. You could have the shiniest car in the neighbourhood, but without clean tyres, you basically undo all your hard work. The same goes for exhaust tips. The key to this is regular cleaning and the occasional hard reset...

Obsessed Garage were the first to start that trend, adding a matching label to every product put into a Pressol bottle. They now offer them in blue and black, 500ml or 750ml bottle sizes. Note how they are generic product names rather than specific products. Blue Pressol ProSeries Label |...

Went down to the local auto store today to restock on Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Detailer, which will feature in an upcoming article. I love that product, it's only one minor change away from being perfect, and an Aussie distributor that doesn't over price it. On surface level, it may appear...

I recently published an article on the rinse-less washes I reach for most often, plus a wildcard no one talks about. Those products include Optimum No Rinse (and a mention of the Opti-Coat version), ADS Hero, and P&S Absolute. The wildcard being Gyeon Eco Wash. Gyeon Eco Wash is a...

P&S Release Vacuum Aid As if the detailing world needed another product category, P&S has gone and created one anyway — the vacuum aid. I know, do we really need such a product? My answer to that is another question: who here hates vacuuming carpet as much as I do? Probably my least favourite...

Ford service centres have dealt with Tremec gearboxes since 2001 (TR-3650), and 6 speeds since 2004 (T56) and 2008+ (TR-6060). As in, they aren't some exotic gearbox, it's a manual transmission, you drain it, you refill it. Which has me thinking, did they were quote the right gearbox? The...

Got the Ranger and Mustang washed this week. Tyres cleaned with Brake Buster, wheels and body with Carpro Reset. On the Ranger, after the wash I decided to apply Reload 2.0 to the paint and plastic trims. I feel like this product gets a bad wrap, but the latest formula is easier to apply and...

Just be careful, PPF is another layer of complexity when it comes to maintenance and decontamination. If you are in doubt, consider talking to the installer of the PPF and coating.

Switching to a foam cannon won't solve this, primarily because its a delivery method rather than a process. I think in this situation you are dealing with contamination of some sort. The dust alone won't have baked into the PPF or glass without water and heat, then left to dry. That would be...
  17. Matte Wheel and Painted Caliper Cleaning

Matte finishes are a nightmare. Because they lack a traditional clearcoat, which acts as barrier to brake dust and grime, the finish is somewhat porous. That means its extremely difficult to remove contamination, even with strong wheel cleaners and brushes. A ceramic coating is a must, but not...

I did the Ceri-Glass (cerium oxide) thing once and it was a nightmare. Only use that if you 100% have to, its basically the sledgehammer and is highly abrasive to paint and rubber, a nightmare to wipe off, and needs supplemental lubrication to keep it from heating up/drying up.

Well, that’s 27 minutes of my life I wont get back! :giggle: The title of the foam cannon video is indeed click bate, he would never suggest a foam cannon is useless when he sells 3 foaming soaps, of which are sold alongside countless others in the THOR group. The main takeaway from that video...
