I now own two vehicles which use the 10R80. The 10R80's adaptive learning (fuzzy logic, and please don't call it AI!) can be smooth as glass or as brutal as Attila the Hun, all reliant on how you drive. While you can duplicate the latter with a stick, the former is nigh on impossible! Enough said!

Most (not all!) small battery chargers are based on measuring the voltage. Once you start the vehicle, the battery voltage will hover around 14 to 14.7 depending on the SoC. So any connected charger should just shut down. In any case, I'd be more worried about the charger, than any electronics...

Let's see here. Battery dead, so we hook up a battery charger with Start Boost built in. Then we twist the key to spring things life, and we're worried about a max 2 amp trickle charger? Me thinks not!

Technically speaking, Ford could publish an on-line specific owners manual based on the VIN, rather than a generic one like they do now. Good read Skye. The main issue is that most folks who store their cars for several months, just don't go through the requisite maintenance routines. At least now, they know what should be done.
