Good choice. Diff between R7 and A7 is the A's warm up quicker, but don't last as long. R7's take a little longer to heat up to optimum (usually an extra lap), but last longer.
Did road racing for 12 years and a little autox in the beginning. I've used Cooper Zeon RS3, Toyo Proxes RR, RS1, R1R and then moved into Hoosier R7 and A7. For autox and if you are serious about competing, I'd recommend Toyo Proxes. Aside from buying new, try slightly used (see link below)...
Yea, get rid of the fins on top, would look more like a diffuser... If you can find one that would go entire width of rear, that would even be better....
Yep, had a new Ford GT do the same to me the other day on highway. Saw him coming up from behind, he pulled alongside, gave it a quick blip and took off. Wanted to play, but had wife as co-pilot and she doesn't approve of my childish antics....😒
