of course time changes. But principles don’t.
Time changes the way you look, it changes the weather, and it changes the leaves on trees.
But it does not change identity. You are what you are. And the mustang is a two door sport coupe in various levels of performance.
totally agreed. A 4 door s650 can be called something else and still enjoy platform savings - just like the mustang and Fairmount shared the Fox platform and were two totally different cars.
like you said - off topic.
loved it when I bought it. But really, REALLY looking for Ford to do something in that spirit again - and end the conversation.
but my favorite feature - is that it’s a two door sports coupe and not some 4 door grocery getter pretending to be one.
hate to be the party pooper but that just looks like the 2013 s197 gt500 we already had, but more cartoonish - with a touch of s550.
Time to move forward.
and we won’t.
Just like we didn’t buy the Mach e.
people like their products to have distinct identities. No one likes to have their chain yanked by Jimbob trying to show off to the ceo that his new “trick” can sell a few more cars. It doesn’t work.
The Mustang, perhaps more than any vehicle...
that’s the point.
The stock setup isn’t sorted for adding huge power. You are ALREADY MODDING by supercharging. So go ahead and sort those tires and that suspension.
otherwise… enjoy your dyno queen.
Around 3 minutes in, beefcake racing details what they did to sort their non-Dino queen s650.

it’s because so many people concentrate on horsepower only. When you’re pushing that much power, you need more tire - bigger contact patch and grippier rubber. Beyond that, a sloppy suspension will soak up some of the thrust. And then there’s the transmission - if you’re great at rowing your...
If it were me I’d back the other side bolt out, grab a friend and both work on each side simultaneously. Sounds like tolerances are tight and a little off on one side will make the other impossible.
this makes the most sense.
Revive a cool name, satisfy whichever board member wants a 4 door car again, and leave the mustang legacy intact.
win-win.
mid the Mach e is any indication, abusing the Mustang model as a brand actually hurts sales instead of helping.
let’s stop with the nonsense...
that will work so long as they take the approach where the engine charges to e motor. A couple cars doing that now.
I think you’re right that that is the way to go. If they can do it right
But then they should do that across the board with 4 and 6 cylinders. No need to turbo the little d add...
Ifitwere limited. But economies of scale changes everything
Negative. You take the same engine and just add turbos with inter oilers. It’s actually not that much, especially with economies of scale. You could make the same argument about the eco 6 or 4.
ford likely spends more on the eco 6...
2400 miles is nothing. You can drive it how you want since it’s broken in.
The only reasons I can think of to sell and get the new one is if you don’t like the colors and things of that nature.
other than that, you bought a basIicallynew dream car that’s all set up and ready to run.
Ford would do well to develop an ecoboost v8 for the mustang, allowing the economies of scale to cut the costs, and deliver GTs that are world class performers, only needing to launch Shelby’s cobras, etc. when they have something wildly special.
better economy, way more power across the board...
