Honestly, I find nothing wrong with your approach. While I did the first oil change for *this* engine at 1,600 miles, I've had a dozen and a half new vehicles in the past couple of decades alone, and most of them I've simply done the first oil change at the normal interval (IOLM followed). I...
It's like gravity - everyone who has been around internal combustion engines knows this.
I warned you about opening your mouth and proving your foolishness.
Unlike your engine, an automatic transmission is a sealed system. Nothing gets in and out, and there is no combustion taking place...
I'll try to explain this in a way even you can understand:
When a vehicle is properly maintained and the oil is changed regularly, most contaminants are flushed out when you change the oil. When it's not properly maintained, these contaminants can build up inside the engine.
Engines use...
For 2024, my understanding is that they are running Motorcraft semi-synthetic 5W30 in the S650 Coyote.
If they were running full synthetic from the factory, they would not be recommending semi-synthetic for subsequent oil changes (i.e., in the owner's manual).
"Semi-synthetic" is like >90% conventional oil. There's very little synthetic base in "semi-synthetic" motor oils.
Flushing the oil passages in an old engine has nothing to do with full synthetic vs conventional. My point is: After MANY years of operation, dirt and debris fill the various...
It's not a matter of synthetic vs conventional - it's a matter of dirt and debris filling the gaps.
Side note: Beware of clowns making comments when they don't have a clue what they are talking about ... they just like to hear themselves talk.
I am, mostly. My left leg now consists of titanium, aluminum, steel, plastic, electronics, hydraulics, and sensors (gyroscopes and accelerometers), but otherwise, I'm still in one piece ... :)
If I get a hard stop like this on the F150, I just reset the APIM. Takes about 15 seconds and the phone usually connects again. Have not had it happen on the Mustang yet.
Sometimes I restart my phone at the same time, just for S&G.
To reset the APIM, simultaneously hold the power button and...
As long as you're changing your oil regularly AND you're not operating in severe conditions, I would not use any type of additive or flush.
Side note: As vehicles gets (much) older, those deposits actually work to help old, worn gaskets keep things sealed up. Ever flush an engine in an OLD...
I don't have an iPhone, so I can't give you specifics on that. But I can give you a few pointers.
1. As long as Carplay is connected, you should always get the navigation on your phone (last used, whether it's Waze or Google Maps) and not the built in navigation. That's the way AA works, at...
If you're washing dishes in the sink, do you drain the sink and refill with fresh water and soap every 3 plates? I highly doubt it. Will the subsequent dishes NOT get clean if you use the same soapy water to wash some more dishes? Nope - they will get just as clean.
Same difference. Nothing...
Yea, yea, yea ... shaddduppp!!! :giggle: :cwl::cwl::cwl:
Yea, it does look cleaner. I just wish the one with the indigo blue stitching wasn't on national back order with no ETA. I'll survive ... I do want it to match.
I always kept full coverage on all of my motorcycles - that was required for unlimited PIP. Glad I did -- they've paid out several million dollars since my unfortunate event (aggravated vehicular assault and hit/skip) in 2012.
