This is very true. That said, odds are you'll be fine.
Keep in mind that if you "take it Ford" they will just call Safelite.
And, as noted, a windshield claim should not affect your premiums.
It's not a box of rocks, but it is notchy, especially when cold. For me, 2nd and 5th are the worst. I test drove another DH and it was also notchy.
It gets much better when hot, but still not silky smooth. But I don't expect that in a high performance transmission.
Keep in mind that...
I'm with you there brother, I too suffer from car A.D.D. but as I prefer manual transmissions, the C8 is out for me.
You don't need a second set of tires, whatever you've got on the car now (I presume OE) will be fine. JUST DO IT. Then if you want to go buy a midlife crisis gold-chain-wearing...
As I wrote in this thread I am very happy with the performance of my stock car. I was telling the wife recently that I had spent tens of thousands of dollars preparing a car for the track, and all of the issues that I had with the car after that point were directly related to those...
First, I didn't go for the HP because it's just too stiff for the road even in comfort mode. I'll go to the track 2 or 3 times a year, the rest of the time I'm driving on the streets or on the way to the track. It's just too much for me.
I'm old.
Second, the owner's manual states that the...
Yesterday I went to my home track, VIR, for a day of fun in the sun. The weather was perfect, although it started cool, it stayed in the 60s.
For background, I've been doing track events since the 90s, and I've probably been to VIR 40 times or more as a driver and HPDE instructor with various...
You've already done two days? So, presumably you know all about preparation, brake bleeding, tire pressures, etc.?
The only advice I can give you at this point is to listen to your instructor. You are in an incredibly fast and capable car, and your instructor will not only help you become a...
Because of potential liability and fear of feeling terribly guilty, I'd never suggest that those will be just fine. I've seen cars fall off of jacks - or the jack collapse - so I've always been extra paranoid and safe when it comes to working under cars. Which is why I never, never, NEVER use...
First, sorry to hear of your medical issues, best of luck with that. Forgive my stupid question, but if you're not able to get down there to look, how do you intend to get down there to take it off?
I've taken off bumpers and other stuff on Mustangs before, so I suspect that it has a boat load...
Oops, sorry.
Well, compared to a BMW M car (or Zupra) the most noticeable difference right off the bat is the quality of the interior materials. The Ford is still a Ford, Hertz would be proud to rent this car to you with the fake carbon fiber weave plastic trim and plastic, plastic, plastic...
I worked in car sales for a few months this past summer. All I can say is that nearly all of the tricks and games and lies come from the management of the store. The salespeople are often clueless as to what goes on and are not responsible. At least that's what I told my customers...
Well, in hindsight, I was told this back in the 90s in reference to an 80s car, and with today's DI and presumably higher tolerance in the injectors and everything else, maybe using a cleaner every few thousand may be OK. Still, I never use one unless the car is experiencing performance issues...
Wow, great comments. I thought I owned a lot of cars, but perhaps Ken has beat me out there (although he's older...).
The car previous to the DH was a Zupra. As a long-time BMW fan (M5s, M2, M4 perhaps an M3 way back when) it was everything I was used to, but the thing was really...
Thanks all for the comments, it looks like (so far) we're about 50/50. The wife says not to rush in the decision, which is good advice. She likes the graphics.
I washed the car for the first time yesterday, and noticed that there is an awful lot of matte finishing on it, parts of the bumpers...
Excellent write-up and pics. I do question the need for the fuel injector cleaner. Unless you've got just horrible gas, you could cause damage* to the injectors using a cleaner too often.
* - or so I was led to believe from a very experienced mechanic many years ago
Perhaps it's because my car is gray with gray graphics, but they don't pop at all, I really don't care for the matte look, and I figure the sooner I take them off, the less likely that the paint will fade at different rates.
However, it is a special car and the graphics are a big part of that...
I bought this car last month but it didn't show up (delivered from Ohio) until last night. I like it so far. :)
It's a 2025 DH with three pedals, no options besides the car cover that I'll probably never use. It was used with under 400 miles. Apparently the original owner won it in a...
