There is no M2 Competition at the moment. There may be one coming and it will probably be AWD. It won’t provide much of a handling advantage over the Dark Horse but it will surely be much quicker on the street with its very underrated 503hp.
I'd put the S58 I6 up against the Coyote any day. :) Nothing wrong with a great Inline 6. Sure, it doesn't make the beautiful noise that a V8 does, but it sure beats an EV.
It's an Inline 6. They sound better than a V6 and they can make a ton of power. Sure, they need twin turbos to make that power, but you know Dodge. They'll make it 800hp and sell it for the same price as a Dark Horse. ;)
No source, but with the rumored 520hp turbo 6 Hurricane engine and the new Challenger that’s bound to make an appearance soon - it’s just an educated guess. 😉
I doubt it’s anything other than placebo.
The C8 Stingray had a torque limiter that flipped off after 1000 miles. Seems everyone is carrying that over to any new performance car.
This will all be revisited next year when the new Challenger arrives standard with 520hp and more torque than the Dark Horse as well. Probably be priced comparable to the GT.
It's really hard to compare results from different days, weather conditions, etc. I mean, it's a great time, but what would the ZL1 1LE have done on THAT day against the Dark Horse, or how would the C8 Z51 do on that day?
I really dislike comparing track times from different days, but I guess...
I can see that. If they had just changed the door cards and center console, that would have went a long way to create a more modern interior. It's hard to see "new generation" when those are nearly identical to my 2020.
I don't have a problem with the facelifted S550. I DO think the front design of the Dark Horse and the EcoBoost are the cleanest. The side inlets on the GT just look weird with that chunk of plastic around them.
Nice! I have a 22 Civic Sport Touring as my daily driver. Bought it when they first started hitting dealers and before any of the crazy markups started. Still, had to buy it right off the truck. I can only imagine how fun the Type R is.
So that's 0-60 in 3.7 seconds (with a rollout, no doubt) and 12.0 in the 1/4 mile on a prepped surface. Not too bad, I guess!
That would be hard to repeat on the road.
