I was around for this on M6G (check my join date). They hated the looks, then the performance, then eventually, everyone had one. Seems familiar.... either way, I love all Mustangs. I'm glad its still around!
I'd love to see a 2024 GT and S550 GT quarter mile time head to head on the same track same day. The horsepower gains on the dyno for a S650 ran back to back with a S550 show to be more than enough to offset the weight gain. The only thing i could think that would make a 24 slower is the torque...
My buddy picked up a Dark Horse A10, he said it pulls hard until red line (7500) on the dash and doesn't feel like it short shifts at all.
I know thats not a manual car, but just relaying the info i know. Want to know more too.
I would take the Dark Horse, those were two of the cars I had to choose from a year ago. Worth the price difference, makes the M1 look dated, much better interior, much cooler name. Cheers.
They will schedule next week for November whether they were preparing for a strike or not, they typically dont schedule first week of the month.
They already have the whole month of October scheduled as well.
We will see. Many reviewers saying the DH feels faster around a track. Higher grip on the skid pad. Faster times in the quarter by the same magazine tested, granted they were on different days.
The DH has the traps as well, so pulling them could net a gain there, the DH is still going to make more power.
I wouldn't expect as large of a gain pulling the carbon traps on a dual intake as say the 22-23 Mach 1s, as having 2 vs 1 was already less restrictive. I saw someone do a before and...
Some people have gotten their Dark Horses already, I'm still unscheduled with a March order date as well. I'm really hoping for a November date this month.
My buddy just bought a Dark Horse off a lot today.....was hoping we would get to cruise together....maybe one day soon!
It will be nice when we see some gen 3 vs gen 4 dynos back to back on the same day. I believe it will confirm some power gains. Comparing years old numbers on different dynos is pretty silly.
Id love to see a 23 mach1 vs a 24 Dark Horse same day and dyno. Or a 23 GT vs 24 GT. Or even 24 GT vs...
The next chance you have is November scheduling, they finished October this week.
I am really hoping for November myself. They are scheduling for 5 weeks instead of 4, so maybe we will get lucky.
Im also curious if the soft limiter at 7250 falls off after break in. The guys that drove the car at Charlotte said the auto didnt have a limiter until 7500 but the manual had a soft limiter at 7250.
The journalists at the Charlotte event said the manual had the 7250 soft limiter but stated the auto pulled hard to 7500, i wonder why Steedas A10 pull fell off at 7250....unless there is a break in period that allows you to get to 7500. Im still confused on the 7250 soft limiter and why it is a...
This dyno seems happy but its the same one where they got 420 from a active exhaust gt. 440 at the wheels for the dark horse 6 speed

Haven't seen this posted yet. Hard to tell how this compares with different dynos on different days than the GT numbers, but it made more power on the same dyno as a CAI tune S550.
