This is Race Red with Collinite 845 wax, which has been on the market for decades, even modern waxes struggle to match it. No editing in those photos either.
A very experienced and well-respected detailer once described why car companies still make cars with orange peel despite the...
The divide between Ford and Holden supporters has narrowed significantly since the factories closed. I think what we are left with is a general appreciation of one another, and that the war is over and both sides lost. In Australia at least, Mustang brought many newcomers to Ford showrooms, and...
When I was at the age, I was car crazy. My Dad wasn't and still isn't interested in cars, to him they are simply a consumer devise to from A to B. The family car was always something boring, always the base model. A 1990 Magna wagon, manual, white...............the cheapest he could find. A base...
Ranger Wiper Trim Restoration
Nothing ages a car more than faded black plastic trim. While certain areas are easy to deal with, say the wing mirrors or bumper inserts, others are harder to do properly. As such, these areas tend to get neglected and therefore show age sooner. Sitting at the top...
Had to replace both the washing machine and dishwasher this week. :frown: It was Ranger to rescue, picking up the new units and the disposal of the old machines. I hadn't planned on doing a wash today, but it's been raining and the disposal site covered in mud. So, the Ranger got a second wash...
Digging up an older thread, but if anyone wants a set of these wheels, send me a PM. These were taken off the car with about 100 km on the clock, so both wheels and tyres are brand new.
Today was the first wash of the Wildtrak after it was detailed two weeks ago. Gyeon recommend waiting 14-days before exposing Can Coat EVO to detergents and chemicals. Soap of choice was Gentle Snow Foam GSF from KCx, which easily dealt with the situation. As you can see in the below image, the...
A couple of points to consider -
Price - What you have been quoted is about right if the installer is doing his job correctly. In that I mean a fully decon wash and polish prior to the install. That is what you are paying for, the hours and hours of prep work BEFORE the coating goes down...
I just threw away one of those Maxshine brushes. I found they don't hold up and tend to collapse.
The EZ-Detail ones last much, much longer and withstand frequent usage. I've used my large brush at least twice a week for 4 years and only now felt the need to replace it.
Sadly, the lack of...
I don't know about others, but I have a bit of thing for big brakes, especially big red Brembo's. Actually, ordering my car with Magneride was primarily for the corresponding red calipers.
I can understand that. I think the key to GSF is the "gentle" part, the lack of outright cleaning power is part of the MO. In which case, it's primarily a lubrication agent and perfume dispenser. I've said this before, but Reset tends to ruin you when it comes to other soaps.
Glad to see you having some fun with detailing.
With Purge vs Brake Buster, they have a very different chemical make up and therefore do different things.
Brake Buster is an alkaline cleaner that targets dirt, brake dust and oily/greasy deposits. It also contains corrosion inhibitors and has...
