If equipped, like the Mach 1 HP, I'd be prepared to swap them out immediately. Potentially great track tires, they'll be throwing so many rocks, not to mention the tram lining and being useless in cold weather, you'll want to have a new set at the ready.
Further, like the HP, production might...
IMO, the answer is going to depend on what your objectives are.
If you're looking for something you can take out any time, possibly use as a DD, a nicely-optioned GT might be worthwhile.
If you're looking for something more performance-oriented, potentially more collectable and admittedly more...
What I've read thus far, performance-wise, they are effectively the same car.
Hands-on reviews would begin in the Spring?
At least in the first year or two, I consider the Mach 1 to be the better buy.
Pricing for the DH will be greater, with the possibility of an ADM. Once production settles...
Many are clamoring for non-metallics. I agree. Change it up. Metallics are cool and all, but to have everything metallic is a bit of a bore.
I'm sure the emblems stick on, but are their divets to align? IDK. Most footage I've seen of any emblem, they have am temporary jig to help apply. The...
Thanks for posting. Any of those colors are great. But I would like Ford to remove the redundant ones (blue, red, grey) and offer green, orange and another special or unique one.
I prefer a regular rotation of colors. Not a set schedule, but change. Bringing old, enjoyed colors back and pausing...
I like the lights and the tail by themselves. Something different. But I wish Ford and the designers would have proportioned the area better with respect to the sides. The sides are quite wide, appear large and heavy. The rear, the opposite.
Like everyone else, I'm still processing. The car...
Some things to consider with respect to jailbreaking a PCM (I do understand to some I'm stating the obvious.)
Voiding warranties are a given. More importantly is the issue of safety.
Anyone who has a jail-breaked car and later has an accident could be in for all kinds of problems.
I'm not a fan of the dash; it's several different ideas or styles thrown together.
Straight ahead, I have a huge display, but it's not seamless. One end appears to be an extension, added as an afterthought.
More importantly, why am I looking at this huge screen with all kinds of futuristic...
I've been left with the impression tram lining is more a function of the tires than the design of the suspension.
Michelin Cup 2s for example. While they are a great track tire, on the street they experience a great amount of tram lining. Swapping to a tire oriented more towards street surfaces...
People did tell me not to expect a lot of detail at the reveal, and they are correct. Overall concept only. The S550 with trims and options isn't cheap. If a potential buyer, I'd hope they cement and publish order guides and specs at least a few months before order banks open.
The front looks OK. An evolution.
To the side, all I see is Camaro. (I'm trying!. Really!)
To the back, I think Lamborghini.
Overall, the car does look heavy.
I'm all one for framing the discussion and setting the mood, but I was hoping for a brief introduction, followed by the reveal with some details. Unfortunately, this has the air (no pun intended) of a very long and somewhat awkward entertainment show.
Must not comment. Has not been officially revealed yet. :lipssealed: Must not comment.Must not comment.Must not comment.Must not comment.Must not comment.Must not comment.Must not comment.Must not comment.Must not comment.Must not comment.Must not comment.Must not comment.Must not comment.Must...
Three transmission options would seem expensive, from Ford's perspective.
Dual air boxes? Again, that seems expensive, and, unnecessary.
Locked PCM? I can see that. Wouldn't be surprised.
The rest of the list seem like definite maybes.
With all the talk of "digital", "detail", and, with all new Ford's sporting a tablet-like display somewhere in the dash, I wonder if/how they have now incorporated one into the S650; this, in addition to or replacing the existing digital display in the 550. Or, maybe a full-width LCD dash. And...
In another thread, there was a post of a team which had staged the cars and displays for the reveal. There was a comment the interior designs would be shown, as models.
I thought what we'd been looking at was a mock-up? "clay model interiors" I didn't expect the show quality to be that great.
For security and PR, companies routinely sweep Twitter, FB and other sites for comments related to their business. I realize many of us know this already, but for those that don't, posting comments like the above can sometimes earn one a quick trip to HR to explain themselves and possibly get fired.
Check.
I've read a few things on the D2C in passing; I'll go back and study those.
The differences of platforms and your comments explain a lot of other things I'd been curious about, many of the most recent articles and opinions.
Thank You.
