To be fair, as far as auto industry timelines go, 2027 may as well be next week. For perspective, the next gen mustang is scheduled to arrive in 2029 most likely. We don't know anything about the next gen mustang apart from it may have styling lightly and subtlety inspired by the new edge, which...
Idk man, apparently a 5.0 hybrid is in development. I agree it would probably have trouble fitting with the current platform. You say they would have to turn it into a boat, but it's hard to say.
Visually, I'd like to see the next mustang push the wheels to the corners more, especially in the...
I personally believe Ford should take major learnings from their affordable EV skunkworks program and apply it to the development of the s750 and beyond. Imo the mustang needs a new multi energy modern platform that can set it up for success for decades to come.
The affordable ev team came up...
A hybrid isn't ev my man, and unlike pure EVs that are kinda struggling right now, hybrids are all the rage. I mean on of the best, most reliable, affordable, efficient vehicles on sale is the maverick hybrid. Those are popular as hell right now.
I believe Ford said around a quarter to a third...
Completing a lap in 6:15. That makes it the third fastest car around the ring ever, the fastest American car, the fastest gas only car with the 1st and 2nd place cars being a hybrid and EV respectively, and the fastest car that's actually sold to people, 1st and 2nd were one offs owned by their...
It's not that man. It's just, there are dozens, if not hundreds of groups and sites I can think of that don't interest me. So I don't go on them. It's just weird to spend all this time writing on a site centered around a product you seem hypercritical of.
I'm not a fan of cyber trucks, but I...
There's a very good chance this is a production car. Either as a new variant of the GTD, or as upgrades existing GTD owners will be able to have installed. It also is faster than the zr1 if that lap time is accurate.
With all due respect, why are you here? It feels like even though this is a mustang forum, you're always attacking the mustang, and glazing the Corvette. I feel like you should be on Corvette forums instead.
The GTD is a badass car. We can debate the price, but you can't deny it performing the...
Not in this vid, but they had the hood vents off in another test session months ago. When you do that with a GTD, you can see the engine pretty well. Eagle eyed viewers noted how the supercharger looks like a whipple.
Now this isn't confirmed by Ford of course, so take it with a grain of salt...
Someone on another site made a really excellent point, if that 6'41 time was accurate, that makes this the third fastest production car around the 'ring. EVER.
I don't think some people realize how insane that is.
6:41 would be insane, or really anything close to that. The thing about GTD I noticed was it was clearly the better suspension/areo/chassis car than something like the zr1. But it felt like the power was a little lack luster.
The prototype taking off from a stand still near the begining looks...
So this particular vid is about 3 hours old. The blue GTD Evo, that's just what I'm calling it, is the first car in the vid, and then you see a black version later on in the vid as well. So they're running multiple of these upgraded prototypes at the 'ring right now.
Yesterday, not by Ford, just by an independent channel that films vids of cars testing on the 'ring. It has the same areo disk wheels and front canards as earlier prototypes we saw for the faster GTD, but looked far more polished. It didn't have like the prototype tape all over it, looked closer...
With the upgraded version of the GTD spied yesterday running around the 'ring in production ready form, I'm kinda hoping that means Ford's gonna reveal that soon, hopefully with a better lap time.
