I've used Ali Express for years. Bought a lot of bike bits and electronics, duds have been pretty rare.
Generally quality is OK. Checking reviews helps, but isn't foolproof.
I'd be cautious with safety critical stuff.
Completely off topic, but I'm always surprised when people from the US speak of using cheques.
It would be at least 20 years since I wrote or received a cheque, they're almost unknown here now.
Everything is by electronic transfer, credit/debit cards or cash when buyers pick up stuff.
But what...
None of those things put me off.
In NZ a S650GT is a performance bargain, thousands, even tens of thousands, less than any other car I may have consdered.
Also, I don't think a mass production V8 that spins to 7500 and makes nearly 100hp per litre is ordinary. It's a bloody marvel.
From what I've read in here, I'm not unhappy at not being able to have magneride. I'll put some high end shocks on when the time comes.
Also, the Brembos alone on the PP made it a no brainer for me. I love powerful brakes.
I used to be on a detector forum where Vortex thought he was God, or so admins thought.
His recommendations always seemed to go where he has affiliate links. He always seemed to find fault with some he got nothing out of. Like V1's.
From my point of view nearly 500hp is enough. It's hard enough using that around here short of track days. And we have"boy racer" laws where the cops can impound your car for doing a burnout. They call it sustained loss of traction.
Likewise for "unecessary display of speed".
So for...
Fair enough.
If I didn't use the car almost daily I'd wire a connector for my battery maintainer and use that to keep the battery healthy, and make sure there's no extra draw.
My bike battery was still working fine using that system when I sold it after 9 years.
From 15 to 65 I rarely drove autos, so heel and toeing a manual is just second nature. I had to do it on my driving test when the handbrake cable snapped on the hill start.
Even driving manuals in Italy shifting with the "wrong" hand felt natural after the first 100 kms or so. I doubt I'd use...
I've wired my detector to the plug in the camera housing, so that powers on/off with ignition.
I have my detector phone and dashcam powered through the lighter port and I just rely on car power off if I forget to pull the plug. Seems to work fine so far, no battery issues. Current draw would be...
I bought a new Toyota 86 some years ago and it had lazy synchros, I changed the gearbox oil to Pentosyn MTF II 75/80 which helped a lot. It might work here.
I ordered it from a supplier in OZ, can't remember who.
One quirk of oil ratings is that a nominal oil rating like 75/80 may have a...
I don't mind not getting Magneride now. It would be useless to me if it's tied to mode.
I often had my last car in full fat everything and shocks in comfort for rough roads.
