@Stitch650, fingers crossed for you but I think if it was damaging metallic sound you would have had a failure by now and you also have a lengthy warranty ahead of you. An audio/video is a great idea and having it recorded "officially" via a dealership WO should protect you completely. I have...
@LouG .... those straight cut gears are on the oil pump, I believe, but still the same whine and yes, if I'm near a wall it does sound like a supercharger!
@StitchS650 ..... understood and completely reasonable. Go to your dealer and have them listen to it AND open a case number ...... my friend did that with what he termed a transmission noise on his 2024 GT and got a service department receipt with a service case number. He has had no problems at...
Go to a dealership site and read the reviews - read enough and you should have a pretty good idea what to expect. Your attitude when talking with any dealership personnel will determine how well you do. Look at a Long McArthur (huge Ford dealership) youtube videos on how to order a Ford Mustang...
.....the10R80 design/development was a joint Ford/GM venture. The 10R80 is very robust because it has straight cut gears that said there is a distinct whine if you are near an area that will allow reverberation. This noise is in no way a fault or mechanical problem - it's only a problem if you...
Love the chrome RF10....and the chrome rim that is third from the bottom of the post! I'm a sucker for chrome. Even put them on the boss's (aka wife) ride.
When I was 16 I had a Karmann Ghia. I guy ran a red light while fleeing Police after three previous hit and runs. He t-boned me. Hit me so hard he bent my car like a U. Tore my seat belts right out of the floor anchors. I went out the side window and was sitting on someone's lawn. No shoulder...
@Mellor10 ..... do you have more leverage at the bottom of a pair of stilts or at the top, I ask rhetorically .... this was grade 10 physics question - no disrespect intended.
@Mellor10 .....a brace underneath would be better than nothing but not as effective with strut tower strengthening as an upper tower brace. I would get a custom steel brace fabricated and then have it powdercoated.
@GhastlyTT ..... there is a lengthy report on a car forum that I reposted part of on, I believe this forum, wherein an automotive engineer and his friend used calibration and laser equipment as well as physical links between strut towers and the results were IMO predictable. the lateral forces...
@Highspeedplay ...... hopefully you can find something that is already made. If not, no way would I drive that set-up (if it were me) without strut tower braces. Bottom line I'd have them fabricated if no off-the-shelf were ready. IMO that HP with no brace will bust things up if not sooner then...
@Tripower .... truth be told I bought it for the looks BUT after a couple of conversations with Roush customer care and after reading some information they recommended I realized their air filters were IMO way better than most available. I believe AFE makes a custom version for Roush (like Sears...
So, just went onto the Ford website to "build your Mustang" it confirmed what my friend told me - according to the site today you can not order the optional five spoke (star shape) rims that I have if you want to order the "Brembo package". The website automatically deletes the five star rim...
