The target audience this kind of thing is made for isn't exactly into hot rodding and modifying cars..the most they do is different wheels and maybe a graphic.
We don't know what the weight of the new platform will be.
It's easily possible that the new platform will result in weight savings to the point where even a hybrid augment will be roughly the same weight as the car is now.
Here's a shocker...and hold on...it's indeed shocking.
If you don't want an electric augment S650..don't buy one!
I recognize that some people feel the need to base their self worth and the worth of their current car off of what will happen over three years from now..please address your...
Shhh shhhh shh...
Don't bring up facts..okay? The 65-66 was only the K code GT..everything else was just a silly lie. There were never A and C code 289's, or straight 6's..no..
HiPo only.
It almost sounds like people don't want progress, innovation and new things because it means the V8 might die away.
If that's the case, then I say let it happen. If the V8 can stay competitive, cool! But if a TTV6 can do it all better and cheaper, with more power and better fuel economy all...
Oh folks...
I know, change is scary. I remember people losing their minds when the "mighty 5.0" went away in favor of the 4.6 and how it was literally the end of the world.
The V8 isn't going anywhere for a while yet.
I love the V8..but I'd buy a 3.5TT GT in a heartbeat too.
Put the 3.5TT from the Raptor into the Mustang GT? I'd likely actually buy that right now, even with the Coyote available.
This would line up really, really well with the current Ford ideal...
What's the Top Dog overall? The Ford GT (3.5TT)
What's the top F150? The Raptor (3.5TT)
I could see of the standard Mustang's...a 3.5TT with electric augment would be the top dog.
A 4.8L pushing 375 HP/375 TQ with a 150 HP/TQ electric booster motor would be a really quick car, especially if they offset the extra weight of the booster motor with weight savings.
I think some of you folks are getting really hysterical over nothing.
There's no indication that the V8 is going away. They didn't say the hybrid was replacing the normal V8 GT's..but coming alongside them.
"RIP V8" "The day the V8 died" etc etc...dramatics, plain and simple.
