Got a VIN and scheduled for the week of 9/16/24!
This is after waiting from 4/5/24 order date.
I changed from Vapor blue to shadow black on Tuesday 7/23 to get past the painted black roof constraint.
I just spoke with my dealer and was told Ford does not price protect MY rollover orders.
No way am I giving another 4k for the same car I ordered in April. So I hope I get a VIN not likely with all the exhausted availability.
HaHa!
I thought just the rear windows up was worse! "Straight to jail!"
Seriously this thread is actually making it harder to decide.
I had a 69 wildcat convertible in my 20s and all the noise and wind issues seem to be far better than those old verts.
I like that idea. I have been thinking about a Miata, s2000 or Mr2 in a manual for fun Sunday driver.
Maybe I will pick one up while waiting for my coupe build!
I'm pretty sure this would be my experience! Cool calm days are hard to come by here.
This won't be a daily driver but still probably not enough use for the cost!
The constraints are slowing my build as well. I just have to stay patient to get exactly what I want.
Sometimes I find similar builds for sale, but I really want what I ordered so I'll wait for the night pony package!
That said I still wish the process was a little more transparent and why...
Lots of good points!
I would likely end up trading in the convertible when my ordered car comes in and losing a good chunk of money in the process.
The idea of a convertible is cooler than reality. We rented one for two weeks in Hawaii and probably had the top down 10 percent of the time.
What's got me actually thinking about it is the one I found is everything I want just a convertible. It's also been titled as a corporate car for one month with 900 miles so it's technically used.
The price is four thousand less than the coupe I ordered will be.
I ordered a Coupe GT premium, PP 401a, Active exhaust, magneride and automatic. 90 days later and no vin I'm getting antsy!
After searching I found a Convertible with the same spec as I ordered. It's a few hours away.
So anyone that's driven both.
Is the Convertible a lot louder inside...
