  1. S650 steering and handling is night and day difference compared to S550 Mustang says Chief Engineer Ed Krenz

One problem I see is that you eliminate DIYers from replacing the rear brake pads because with electronic parking brake, you can't replace the pads without putting the caliper into the mode to retract the pistons (had this experience with Euro cars) which means you need a scan tool that has...
  2. 2024 Mustang (S650) Specs Sheet / Technical Data

I had a chance to drive a friend's 2014 Ferrari 458 Spider that has a Getrag DCT. For some reason (whatever mode he had it set to) it would not upshift unless I used the paddles. But, when I come to a stop, it would be in 1st gear. Really strange that an "automatic" wouldn't upshift...
  3. 2024 Mustang (S650) Specs Sheet / Technical Data

Just having similar displacement means nothing. My old '71 Mustang with the 302 can't compare with a 2016 Mustang 302 which would leave the '71 in the dust. Just like the way that same 2016 GT would leave the '69 Z28 behind. Back in the day a friend who had a '69 Z28 kept bugging me to race him...
  4. 2024 Mustang (S650) Specs Sheet / Technical Data

True. The current 5.0L is 307 CID; the old 5.0L which was 302 CID was actually a 4.9L, but I guess 4.9 on the fender doesn't look as cool 5.0 does.
  5. 2024 Mustang (S650) Specs Sheet / Technical Data

Point of interest, the Mustang was a 5.0L while the Camaro SS is a 6.2L. As former Pro Stock guy Bob Glidden once said, "you can't beat cubes".
  6. 2024 Mustang (S650) Specs Sheet / Technical Data

It's been 307 since the 2018 model year (Gen 3 Coyote) when they went to the Plasma Transfer liner stuff.
  7. 🎉 The 7th Gen Mustang S650 Has Officially Landed!!

Yeah, I wondered about the power as they indicate it's the most powerful Coyote yet, but would like to see the actual specs on it. They didn't increase compression so it's perhaps linked to cam profiles and the dual throttle body.
  8. 🎉 The 7th Gen Mustang S650 Has Officially Landed!!

Yes, I like the appearance upgrades but also noticed that a lot of things that were optional are now standard like the lane-keeping, auto dim headlights, etc. I wonder what the MSRP would be? But, like you I think I'll keep my S550 especially since I don't even have 3800 miles on it despite...
