Finally, mustang boys won't be bullied for not having hood struts. We can rejoice! (Until in 10 years when they give out and the hood falls on your head)
Either ford performance is being really nice and updating the cobra jet so we can install it aftermarket, or they are going to put it on the dark horse race cars and gt3/gt4 cars.
I think it will definitely show up in the track-only versions of the dark horse.
The gt350 IM has imrc and was designed for a street car. The gt350 IM is just an upgraded continuation of the manifold they have been using since the first coyote.
I think it is totally possible they will just upgrade the intake manifold for the GT, and the Dark Horse will just use that...
As to the OP's question, I highly doubt it.
Ford has spent a lot of time developing their intake manifolds and imrc to try to give some torque to the coyote motor and I believe it helps with emissions (although I could be wrong).
The cobra jet is marketed as an all-out N/A manifold for...
Ford says that it will not be going backwards in efficiency or horsepower.
So horsepower and mpg will at least be the same, but with all the upgrades we can expect a bump in horsepower and efficiency, if at least just a good bump in efficiency. I think 350hp is a reasonable expectation.
Edit...
My hope is that the rods and pistons are a lot beefier. The turbo is a new twin-scroll turbo with the electronic wastegate, don't know if ford is already using something like this or if it is just for this car.
I am hoping the 5.4 will bolt to coyote heads and I’m hoping it’s just bigger bore. Then you could actually just throw it in the current gen mustang.
Yes hopefully. I am wondering how they achieve the 5.4L though. If it’s through just bore that would be really nice, especially if it bolts to the coyote heads.
It may be a 5.2L block with a stroker kit. There are already stroker kits available for the 5.2 block that can make it 5.4-5.5L. Would...
You are correct. Previous exhaust manifolds had the cats and manifold as a one piece on the driver side and as a 2 piece on the passenger side. This new design will be a lot better and I predict it will make many more people buy some cat delete tubes instead of buying full headers.
Why spend...
Ford confirms cam upgrades for the dark horse: https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/feu/en/news/2022/09/15/all-new-ford-mustang-upshifts-its-style--performance-and-digital.html
F-Types are very cool cars. My mom bought one from carvana and I broke it the first day she had it haha. Engine didn’t like being ripped on so hard, I’m sure the previous owner didn’t push the car at all. I drove the V6 and that thing moves out!
Unfortunately my mom returned the car and got a...
According to Ford, the EcoBoost engine for the s650 has been completely overhauled.
New pistons, rods, camshaft, fuel delivery system, air induction system, and an electronically controlled turbo.
The EcoBoost will now use dual injection (port and direct). The direct injection fuel pressure...
