It's the LCT (luxury car tax) that's not being charged on the cheaper vehicles. I believe you'll still need to pay $3k government duty on top, so 78 becomes 81. Nonetheless, if one's not looking to get the very latest model - a year-old car will do just fine.

Ordered mine (GT Conv) in late Oct, it was manufactured in Dec 2024, currently waiting for an allocation to a cargo ship for the delivery in March. If I had to guess, I'm looking at late April delivery :((((
