It varies widely with vehicle type. Remember CAFE is corporate average. And regulators make political deals with the industry regarding testing and data. I've been retired for ten years on this. The benefit number we used as a baseline was 0.1 mpg. Some results were better of course but most...
I have some previous work experience with this. The government uses the value of .1 MPG towards CAFE requirements or they did some years ago. My testing experience for DOE produced data between 0 and .1 MPG. Although engine wear is small, it's still a net negative on engines. The long term...
Mine does it as well. Weird rattle kind of noise that fades in and out. It changes when i press the clutch. The car runs good otherwise. Will probably hold off till first oil change to ask my dealer about it. Until then will turn up the radio.
I have used a generic 1.25A tender with small alligator clamps. Attached clamps to the positive terminal outside the battery box and the negative post provided outside as well. Worked fine as designed as far as I can tell. The manual says you can use those locations as well.
I specifically ordered my gt with the manual. It is pure pleasure and takes me back to my younger years. For me there was no reason to get one otherwise. I don't take it to the track. I agree it is a tad slower if you race etc but I care how it feels when I drive it. And wow, it's bad ass.
I have about 300mi on mine with Brembos. I took it up to 90ish mph for the first time after reading these notes. It seemed smooth and didn't notice any vibration. I will keep looking at it when I drive it but don't notice anything abnormal yet. FYI its a manual if that matters.
I also found two small blemishes on the mustang I received in June after the ceramic coating was applied. Looks like the paint was applied over small dust or sand particles. They are hard to see on the white car. I don't plan to do anything with it. However my detailer said they can be buffed...
Just another data point , after reading this i took mine out for the first time and went all the way up to 90 mph. It seemed very smooth with no excessive vibration. Only a slight drone on top of the exhaust noise which seemed normal to me. I only have 300mi so far but the car seems as happy as...
FYI, AGM is a form of lead acid. It's design uses a glass matt to hold electrolyte instead of liquid in the case. It does have different charging current patterns based on the difference in electrode design.
I had a detail shop put a ceramic coating on my new 60th anniversary mustang. I have no experience with this technology. Opinions on the value in doing this?
