  1. First totaled S650 Mustang appears on Copart

"Brown decided to order a replacement rather than fixing his wrecked car." Not sure that is even a decision he can make. That car is toast and not repairable for street duty. It was hit hard enough to buckle the entire dash bad enough the glove door won't close. If any insurance company...
  2. K&N Filter

There are a set that do fit, not sure if they are K&N but they do look like them: See the new filters at ~14:10:
  3. First crashed S650

Everybody's insurance. The more get wrecked, the more risky the car is perceived and that increases everyone's insurance for this car.
  4. Check your cars out good

Like you said, it ain't going to be perfect, nothing is. But it would be nice to get it as perfect as it can be for a mass produced product. My last new Mustang had a replacement fender installed before I bought it. It was pretty obvious when I lifted the hood, the inner mounting flange was...
  5. Mustang Scheduling This Week (9/14/23) for Production Weeks 10/30-11/27

Same here. Was hoping for a last minute scheduling, but alas, it's on the back burner 'til April. But maybe after the strike is over and Ford workers get the hang of building the S650, hopefully we will get a better quality built car. One silver lining, Ford announced the Dark Horse Track...
  6. Mustang Scheduling This Week (9/14/23) for Production Weeks 10/30-11/27

Very true! Very unhappy with delay, but will likely wait it out for that very reason.
  7. Mustang Scheduling This Week (9/14/23) for Production Weeks 10/30-11/27

Simple fix considering the small number of DH they are building. Get the dealers to contact the buyer and get them to sign a disclaimer specifically acknowledging the issues with the tires. Alternatively, install All Season tires. I would like to have the car and care less about a set of...
  8. Mustang Scheduling This Week (9/14/23) for Production Weeks 10/30-11/27

Yeah, Ford won't build a car because of a disposable part that ain't going to last 2 months anyway.
  9. Mustang Scheduling This Week (9/14/23) for Production Weeks 10/30-11/27

Ford did say they cut short the last of the MY23 S550's so they could start on the MY24 S650's early. The MY24 production is supposed to be 18 months, APR23 to SEP24.
  10. Mustang Scheduling This Week (9/14/23) for Production Weeks 10/30-11/27

I still think it is absolutely asnine to not build an entire car because of a disposable set of tires that aren't going to last 5,000 miles at best or 5 minutes of drifting in the case of Middleton Motorsports:
  11. Mustang Scheduling This Week (9/14/23) for Production Weeks 10/30-11/27

Hell, by then there might be more than a few DH on the used market as people that have to have the latest new thing move on.
  12. Mustang Scheduling This Week (9/14/23) for Production Weeks 10/30-11/27

I have previously heard that Ford doesn't build their highest performance cars (Mach 1, GT350, GT500) because of the possible liability from the summer only tires that are a part of those packages. I am wondering if no scheduling of the DH HP is not because of any contrained availability of...
  13. Mustang Scheduling This Week (9/14/23) for Production Weeks 10/30-11/27

I still believe that Ford shitcanned all the first day orders, especially the Dark Horse. I haven't heard of very many that ordered on 3/27 get their cars, but people who ordered the exact same spec months later got their cars already!
  14. Mustang Scheduling This Week (9/14/23) for Production Weeks 10/30-11/27

That's it then, No DH with HP until next year! Might as well cancel and re-order for MY25! Maybe they will have a 60th Anniversary Edition by then, LOL!
  15. Upgrading visor with garage door opener?

I would say it's 50-50. Ford has a history of installing harnesses with all the options in some base or lesser optioned cars, but using a base harness without options in others. On my 06 Mustang, it is a non-premium without My Color. I checked and all the connections were in place, so I got a...
  16. Got my 2024 GT today, here's my novice takeaway, questions, and issues.

I wonder if what you are feeling is the engine heat being removed from under hood by the heat extractors at the front of the hood? For cars without the extractor, the engine heat escapes from under the car or front wheel wells and is not normally felt.
  17. March orderers that don’t have their cars yet, there’s still hope

I used the Search inventory feature on Ford's website. Found about 20 DH in the state of Florida. Only 1 in my exact spect BE, HP, AP, 6M, I called that one and asked directly about ADM (They call it "Market Adjustment"). They responded with MSRP +$15K. No thanks! I called several others...
  18. Car Covers

Received cover today, quite nice. Includes cable, lock antenna patch and strap buckles: Good thing the cable loops are decent sized. I will be replacing the "Lock" with a better one. Not that it matters too much; a lock, no matter how good is just to "keep honest people honest". Now, I just...
  19. Strike

Here's a news release about UAW's counter offer to Ford: https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2023/sep/7/uaw-delivers-offer-ford-week-strike-deadline/
