I really don't know why this is even discussed. This entire topic just clickbait like a fox news or cnn headline.
If you want to tune/heavily mod, you're probably not looking at a new MY car. Unless you're a youtuber chasing views.
I thought it was pretty rad. The front clip is pretty much the dark horse front clip. That’s a different 5.4 coyote though, we won’t be getting that lol.
The camaro backseat is definitely tighter than the S550. That being said, I'm 6'1 and my son can fit behind me in a forward facing seat.
There is no getting a rear facing seat behind me though. I'll agree a manual chevy SS is a fantastic choice for need of 4 doors and still fun. Easily mod...
My original plan was to trade my weekend car in on an S650. Used car prices are dropping. I get the feeling the bottom might fall out. Currently considering getting out before they tank more. Anyone have thoughts? I'd also be big sad being without a weekend car for what could very well be nearly...
Nothing to lose sleep over. These cars are quite capable as they come. Get good and familiar with it while the aftermarket takes 1-2 years to crack it, if you even care to tune it.
It'll be slightly faster, without a doubt. I'd wager less than 10% of people in the entire forum could drive these cars well enough to be worried about a 1s track time difference. This is a great photo that gives some perspective on track times.... it is what you make it.
I'm hoping that is lightning specific. To my knowledge, that hasn't been a thing with GT500 models, so I would think these early S650s would be fine. Especially since alot is borrowed from the S550.
Unlikely. This will be their path going forward, just like several other automakers. Maybe they will give us a boss spec with GT350-esque gauges. FWIW, I don't care for the new dash, or even the digital dash on the current GTs, but also trying to be realistic.
They’ve been pretty quiet. There are a few 23 MYs being delivered now. They had a decent price increase for MY23, and they’ve made no changes since 2020 except for copper free brake option (cali required). It was rumored they were going to throw the LT2 in the Camaros, but that’s not happening...
So something worth noting in the camaro world. We saw some 22 MY orders get delivered before 21 MY orders. That was due to certain constraints on various specs. Colors, Performance data recorders, etc. I can 100% see that happening, especially if some of the S650 tech is more readily available...
