Haha understandable. Make no mistake the 10speed is a great gearbox so either way you go you'll be having fun.
As far as packages it all depends on your budget. Since you're not as big into racing I'd look at spending that money on a premium version with the 401a package. You'll get the heated...
Two things:
X-plan is the way to go and you'll be hard pressed to find a better deal on the first model year cars unless you had a different Ford plan for employees.
Second, nothing against you, but the "wife has to drive it" excuse is extremely lame. Teach her how to drive it! Would be a...
I agree with you for sure, all heresay until it's actually released. Only reason I have some belief in it is my dealer is the largest in the world so believing they had a Shelby rep come by and talk about the upcoming car has a little more weight than the usual dealer talk.

I mean people buy stuff out of their means so the time, especially cars. Timing of markets, health problems, kids, etc are always a factor.
Still don't really know what you're main point is but hope you get your car soon 👍
You were literally just talking about 'second most expensive purchase' and 'only mode of transportation' like your job depends on getting this car in time. Maybe I misread.
