Try moving the valve stem around. Mine had the same issue but I could only hear the air come out after pushing it side to side. You may also want to check that the internal valve is tight. You will need a special tool for that. Looks like this.

I too got a 401a all the same options but with the 6 speed manual. It is at Lebanon Ford getting the super charger installed this week. I took it to them from Miami because of their experience. Call and ask for Cameron. Look them up on you tube.
