...or drivetrain packaging. A mild hybrid system similar to the F150 powerboost where it's basically within the transmission plus a small battery is about all that's feasible within the current architecture of the S650.
A fully refundable deposit is simply a way to see if you actually have any money at all. Otherwise, what exactly is the point? I paid a grand when ordering my $70,000 BMW with some pretty rare options but the Ford dealer has never asked for one.
I ordered NPP, but it's a convertible. I still pay the same but don't have to wait. I find the less I think about how Ford prices options the better I sleep. I'm either lucky or good because my 2017 BMW 440 convertible sold last week, and looks like another few weeks for the Mustang to...
The plant where the VooDoo and other engines were built (whatever was in the Raptor at one time too maybe?) closed shop in late 2022. Sure, they could build it anywhere...but seem to be moving on from specialty V8's.
I had a 2020 Lariat that I owned 2 years and put 16,000 miles on in that time (May 2020 to April 2022). Somebody offered me within a few grand of what I paid for it new, including tax...and I took it. I hadn't been on the forums and wasn't aware of how tight the supply was.. Ford had closed...
Today's Mustang is a basic RWD Pony car, relatively cheap HP and almost a nostalgia play compared to other (admittedly more costly) modern platform vehicles. I Know some S550/650 builds can be pretty good drag or even track cars, but other than funding yet another meathead-hosted YouTube...
Sometimes that’s what it takes. I bought my F150 at the tail end of covid when inventory was thin and order banks were closed for a few months. Wanted a Lariat, white or silver, max tow package + mirrors, no moonroof or tailgate step, and 6.5 ft bed...not an easy find. I flew from Detroit to...
I would have ordered something priced above a GT Convertible if it was significantly more engine and not what the DH package is. The DH, at least when ordered with HP, is a track oriented package and few track events or even autocross events will allow a convertible.
I can't remember the last car, truck or motorcycle that I had that didn't have this issue to some degree. It's more noticeable the more "busy" the rear design/styling is and Mustangs are pretty high on that scale. I don't think big spoiler, no spoiler, high spoiler, lip spoiler, Gurney Flap...
The idea that the DH is poorly received just because every single one isn't sold immediately with a dealer market adjustment is nonsense. As far as sales figures, anyone in the car business knows that year over year sales volume comparisons lately need about a dozen footnotes and asterisks, and...
Could be. I drive a pickup truck and just keep a convertible around for fun. I admit I don't follow it that closely, had drifted over to German cars for the last few, and since it's been a few decades since Ford offered a convertible other than GT and Ecoboost.
The Dark Horse is a fine car with some nice track oriented bits and pieces, but 14 extra HP can't possibly be where Ford Performance is eventually going with the S650. Nobody in that group is posing for pictures with a Dark Horse under a "Mission Accomplished " banner. There is almost surely...
