The C8 corvette which weighs less, makes more power, is mid engined, has a dct, and better tires still can only manage a 2.8 0-60 you can crunch numbers till the cows come home sunshine. Anyone who has even the slightest car knowledge knows what op posted is impossible.
That’s my guess also, I have done a 2.4 0-60 in my manual 392 challenger according to the onboard data. Obviously that’s bs my best actual 0-60 is 4.5
From what I’ve seen it’s slightly slower than an equivalent s550 or perhaps almost exactly the same. Definitely not slow just not as fast as people were expecting.
I don’t know but braking performance often has as much to do with the tires as it does with the actual brakes, for example the 2018 dodge demon stops in 97 ft. It did that with 4 piston fronts but importantly giant sticky 315 tires.
The gt500 with the CFTP is a much cleaner and better looking car than this imo. I think the gt350R and the mach one are the best looking mustangs since 1970. All of this discussion is pretty pointless though because this car is completely impossible to buy for almost everyone.
Well said, however I should point out that Dodge has a fraction of the R&D budget of Chevy and Ford. They have done the best with what they have. That includes producing what are far and away the best stock drag racing muscle cars ever created. That also includes breaking the 1000 hp mark...
I bought my 2022 392 over a mustang for a couple reasons but the main one was because dodge actually offers a decent manual transmission under 60 grand. I agree that the challenger isn’t as good looking from the side as a mustang but the back is a toss up and the front is the most unique and...
It’s really quite simple, car manufacturers have moved to big screens like 12+ inches. The screens are just becoming too big to properly integrate into the dash, to save money on dash design they simply tack them on often in incredibly bad looking designs. The mustang screens aren’t that bad...
Stop complaining people, you’re getting a V8 and a manual trans available till at least 2026. Sure the dash is trash and the back end leaves quite a bit to be desired but as a Dodge Challenger 392 driver I only wish we had the V8 continuing like you folks do.
