If by torque gun, you mean torque wrench set to 45 ft/pounds then yes. The other bolt that twisted off, happened under the required specs too.

Just be careful tightening the nuts. I twisted the stud right off (using a torque wrench). Had to drill all the way through the shock tower and add a bolt. A quick google search indicates that it’s pretty common. I was pretty pissed about that for a while. Then an even more difficult bolt...

I run synthetic in all of my vehicles. I normally change 7-10,000 miles and never had any issues. Our oldest car is 23 years old now, and doesn’t leak, smoke, stutter, etc. Of course mostly we drive Toyotas. I’ll probably do 7000 mile changes in the Mustang.
