Been a few more weeks; still like it?
Might send my car to the dealer if they can get the part quick. Dont drive the car in the winter, but got a warm spell coming. Been in the garage almost a month.
Thinking of driving the truck to CT and picking up a 1987 ford ranger short bed 2wd no rust.
I bought my car for $28K last summer. I can afford a car twice the price, but have to drive on some real crappy rural dirt roads to work. Never even drove my 1951 olds to work once that bad.....
Every car is peppy if not fast these days.
The guy ragging on the ecoboost is right, the 10...
Took my car to the dealership saturday. Friday morning battery was dead. Can't say for sure how well the battery was the past few days because I remote started each time. Never a problem before. Battery was 2.7 volts.
Call the dealership today and they said the dash caused the battery to...
Ryunker,
I was looking around and several folkd make eccentric bolts for the control arm to adjust it from the bottom, instead of the stut tower. Any reason you didnt go that route?
Also, you got the alignment numbers after the change?
Likely do it like most times I do suspension work...
agreywolfe,
A smaller hose going into the air cleaner area before the the throttle body could be 2 things. PCV ventilation. Could also be air injection system for the exhaust too.
I suspect the annoying tinny old beater car sound the ecoboost does when it's cold is cat air injection...
Color residue is one thing. Since the expansion tank is part of the pressurized system, the vacuum breaker feature of the radiator cap could be releasing a pinch of steam each time making it low.
Keeping vaccum in the coolant system when cold isn't good for hoses and the pump seal...
I put my car away in the wnter. It hasn't really been driven much since that post. Just started driving it for the season here in NY.
Seems the pink sludge is not a rare thing at all. Could be casting sand residue, mold release agent for plastics. Seems a little much for o-ring lubricant...
Saw one good thing last night. External belt driven water pump. 2017 focus se 2 0 had internal. Pretty sure old 2 3 had the same. Pump issues not only easy to fix, but no coolant in oil issues atleast in pump or front timing cover.
2025 explorers have them now. 300hp tune.
Any change to the pulling. Sometimes correcting alignment alone wont fix it. Tire has wear in the direction.
Should of improved a bit. My car drives ok, but the inside edges are wearing. Looked at the car, there isn't much ajustment without any service kits. Bolts with cam washers.
My...
You could very likely be loosing some brake performance only doing the front. The rears won't get close to locking up like the front will. ABS is not brake balance. It to correct when you don't. You add more piston surface area and a larger rortor, the rears won't contribute as much unless...
I'd also put as much fluid as you can in the reservior and close the cap. Have the new caliper ready and swap quickly.
ABS purge procedure is common in new cars/trucks. Really only an issue if you run out of fluid, or get air back in the line. Like pushing the caliper piston in without it...
Anybody seeing alot of inside tire wear on the front. Both driver and passenger front.
I drive in rural areas with horrible potholes, so I got to have some sidewall. The 18 inch contrinentals are just about out of tread on the very inside, only 7,000 miles. Have not rotated yet. Just...
You can use the 500s motorcraft filter from the coyote filter on the new ecoboost engine. A little bigger filter body size, but threads line right up. USed 2 of them so far no problems.
What interested me in the mustang was my 2017 ford focus. Hit a deer at 65mph last month at 201k miles. Only 3 issues. Hit a deer around 100k and the radiator had a slight leak. Stalled out on me 2 or 3 times, bought a new EVAP purge valve. Should of got replaced via recall, just didn't...
Be nice to get a mix. AWD ecoboost or NA coyote motor. or RWD factory supercharged.
What was it like $175k. Folks are known to put down $100k these days for vehicles. Far as high performers go, this is reasonable compared to european entry level super cars, or stuff like the gt40's...
Anybody hear anything about the new motors? Ford's been getting a bad rap with their v6 heads lately. Hopefully didn't make it to the 2.3's.
Any other chasis got the new 2.3 in 2024 like rangers or explorers?
Still a little weary about my coolant bottle going a bit low n dirty. Going to...
I watched the video on mute. However, that mustang has brembo's and Im assuming the active exhaust. No way thats 35 grand or less.
I bought it because it's a detuned sports car. It has more width than an economy car, lower center of gravity, better forward rearward weight distribution. Not...
when I go to Bj's in NY here, there is like a 50-100 car long waiting line for their chep gas. I always wondered what junk they're pumping into their tanks, I sure the high test is alot better Harder to play games there. Costo use a specific brand, or just buyers looing for the best deal of...
They still have ziebart. They charge alot for what they do. Eastwood has a bees wax and applicator kit for about 100ish bucks, maybe less Bought mine years ago with a few extra cans. Same stuff they used to use in european cars.
I have to look at my car a bit more, but some vehicles really...
