Well it seems that the 4th gen 5.0 is out of the bag, at least according to the title of Stangmode's premiere video that goes live later tonight. He saw the car yesterday and may have let this slip!
That was my first thought as well, especially because the Ford employee mentions that they switched to dual throttle bodies, rather than a large single throttle body with 2 blades. I'm thinking we may see this intake on a hi-po variant of the 7th gen car.
Although I'm skeptical about internet hearsay, this would be a pretty badass setup for the 5.0. We'll see next week. Maybe Ford has decided to invest a good bit of R&D into the 5.0 for this gen. I vaguely remember talk of motorsports factoring heavily in to the 7th gen.
I'm beginning to think this car may be a knockout. You can just about make out the hood scoop/vent, as well as the mentioned ducktail spoiler. I'm slowly starting to get really hyped for this reveal. I was a bit skeptical at first, and I'm remaining cautious and trying to keep my expectations...
You can hear the whine of the straight cut gears. It's definitely a sequential transmission. The whine combined with the loud exhaust makes me think this is the next GT4 or GT3 car.
That was my first thought, Boss 302. Unless Ford decides to go crazy and give us a de-stroked 7.3 to a 7.0 and give us a Boss 429. One can dream, right?
I wonder if this is a tease for a final, one model year special edition send-off for the S550. I'd be surprised if it's the reveal of the S650. Could be a bit of teaser for S650 though, I suppose. We'll see tomorrow!
