The 2015 S550 was faster around a road course than a Boss 302, despite having less horsepower, because of the new, better platform with IRS, etc. In contrast, the S650 from a performance standpoint is more like the 2018 refresh. (Obviously bigger changes in exterior styling and interior.) The...
Prior to 2021 it was generally possible to buy at considerably below MSRP, but not any more. The true prices customers are paying have increased by more than the change in MSRP. I realize that's not an S650 issue (I looked at '22 and '23 Mach 1 prices 🙂), but it's another factor besides interest...
Similar in general shape (although the Mopars typically had longer hoods), but grilles and taillights were quite distinctive. The grille on that Torino looks more like a Dodge than other Fords of that time.
If I get one it will be a GT probably MY26. I'd change the grille, and by then hopefully there should be some clean looking options. Tint would be the first thing but I do that with all my cars.
I finally became aware of the Jim Farley statement shortly after posting that comment. 😄 I hereby change my reply to, "I hope so, too," which I think members will be more receptive to than, "I'd rather have the EV version." :)
LOL. You must be hanging out with the Corvette crowd. I am 62 and most of the S550 guys I meet and cruise with are younger than me and ask if I wear white New Balance shoes. 😄 The rear is gradually growing on me and I really can't wait to see it (and the rest of the car) in person. The dash...
The S650 GT looks nice from this angle. It hides the busy grille and looks more muscular than the S550. However, the only thing that looks more "modern" imo, is the headlights.

@DeluxeStang
Perhaps I misunderstood but I thought @DeluxeStang was saying the absence of lines or creases on the sides was, by itself, a more modern look. I agree the overall design of the S650 doesn't necessarily look like a throwback to the 90s.
I do admit I like the look of...
I agree it looks more muscular, which is a reversal of the direction the S550 took from the S197. The new Nissan Z has a similar look with no lines or creases on the sides.
Is this really a "modern" design, though, or do these things just go in cycles? :)
