Thanks for keeping an eye and ear close to the S650 scheduling. Potentially 2029 for a refresh means potentially a lot more time for me to save up and keep observing what happens with Ford and the rest of the automobile manufacturers out there.
Since last time I test drove a few more cars. Specifically, a Camry XSE, Explorer ST, and a V6-equipped Ranger Lariat. Nothing particularly noteworthy or memorable other than it was my second time test driving a Ranger---and switching the drive mode to Sport in that truck made it a lot more fun...
I love this side profile, possibly more than the RS7. I wonder if those proportions could carry over to a midsize/fullsize 4-door sedan/sport back.
I also had a thought to differentiate the Mach-4 from the Mustang. What if the Coyote was detuned to 400-448 HP for the Mach-4, with a Ford...
With rumors of Hemi V8s coming back to Dodge/Ram products, the 4-door Charger becomes a little more appealing to me. But I do wonder how much heavier that car will feel taking turns compared to the last-gen Charger and Challenger.
I was thinking the Mach-4 should be no smaller than the CT5 and no larger than the previous-gen Charger (or the FPV GT-F 351 [Ford Falcon]) .
Also, why does the current-gen 4-door Charger side profile look better (or at least less awkward) than the 2-door Charger?
I've got a few...
1. The S550 refresh and S650 look more "American/Mustang" than the original look for the S550.
2. S650 GT front end looks cleaner than the Dark Horse.
3. Brembos are more difficult to "chauffeur stop" than non-Brembos.
4. The rear seat is comfortable for long trips.
...which...
What I want to know is for the upcoming ICE version (Sixpack), why is the standard/base version only coming initially as a 4-door sedan while the "High-Output" version will only initially come as a 2-door coupe. That seems like a weird product launch strategy to me, am I alone in that train of...
I certainly don't use all my EcoBoosts power, but I prefer having more than sufficient power getting onto and passing cars on the highway than straining every last drop of HP just to do either one of those two tasks.
I just asked that question because the closest I've seen to it was a GT350...
I like this mindset, it's the one I intend to have if I ever upgrade to a GT/Mach-4 (if they make that one).
(Tangent: I wonder if there are people who buy supercars/hypercars as their daily driver or solely because they enjoy the drive, and not just for the power/status symbol affirmations...)
Congrats on test driving a GT! I've test driven several and hopefully I can provide some useful feedback.
Steering feel: S650 GT definitely has less feedback/weight than the S550 GT, even in Sport steering mode. However I felt more confident taking turns "spiritedly" in the S650.
Torque: Less...
