  1. Just picked up my Shadow Black GT

Was wondering what your thoughts on the EB vs GT after owing the GT for a few months? I'm going to be getting my first Mustang and have driven both the EB and GT. I will be using this as a daily driver (I'm also in MI). Honestly I think the EB is plenty of car for me but that GT I test drove was...
  2. Anyone else struggled deciding between EcoBoost and GT for daily driver?

So it looks like you've been DD a 2017 EB correct? How are you liking your EB as a DD? Can you comment a little more on your GT test drive? I did get a chance to test drive a GT yesterday and it was pretty nice. It was a short drive as the weather and roads were not the greatest here. When I...
  3. Anyone else struggled deciding between EcoBoost and GT for daily driver?

All you guys heaping such praise on the GT is making it hard for me not to jump on the GT bandwagon. Can I ask what your gas mileage is like in the GT and what type of driving you do? I would also be interested in what kind of mileage you saw in our 2016 EB in comparison.
  4. Anyone else struggled deciding between EcoBoost and GT for daily driver?

Wow 13-14 mpg's in the city isn't great but it is what it is I guess. Interesting that your 2020 EB only averaged 18 mpg's so really not much of a difference overall but it does indeed add up. I do more city than highway so my mpg's probably won't be looking great either. I'm still on the fence...
  5. Anyone else struggled deciding between EcoBoost and GT for daily driver?

18.5 mpg's is actually pretty darn good. I would say that I drive more city than highway so I'm sure my mpg's would be less. I assume you are using premium when you fill up?
  6. Anyone else struggled deciding between EcoBoost and GT for daily driver?

35 mpg overall is really dang good but like you mentioned your driving conditions are pretty much ideal. It seems as though some say the EB is really good on gas compared to the GT and others say the difference isn't that big. Are you using 87 octane or premium? I know both the EB and the GT can...
  7. Anyone else struggled deciding between EcoBoost and GT for daily driver?

I see you mention 35 MPG highway with your EB? That's pretty dang good mileage. What kind of mpg's do you typically see if the city and in mixed driving?
  8. Anyone else struggled deciding between EcoBoost and GT for daily driver?

Thanks for the reply and I totally agree with you about the sound. Just got back from a quick 10 minute drive in a 24 GT 10A albeit at mostly low speeds. It's really cold where I am and the roads are still pretty wet and slushy in spots so I had to take it easy. Honestly I was super impressed...
  9. Anyone else struggled deciding between EcoBoost and GT for daily driver?

Your story is what I'm afraid is happening to me, lol. May I ask what kind of mpg's your seeing with the 24 GT and what your overall driving route is (city, highway, mix, etc). So you don't think the GT is too much car to be used as a DD?
  10. Anyone else struggled deciding between EcoBoost and GT for daily driver?

Just a few more thoughts after I previously responded to your post earlier. I noticed you have a 24 GT and I'm sure you've driven your dad's 22 EB. How would you compare the two for daily driver duty? Do you find the GT that much more engaging to drive in everyday traffic? I've test driven two...
  11. Anyone else struggled deciding between EcoBoost and GT for daily driver?

Thanks for your input as it is very informative. I'm actually going to drive a GT this afternoon if for no other reason just to get it out of my system. Like your dad I too question if the extra $10K in my case is worth the price of admission. Not to mention when you throw in the better MPG and...
  12. Anyone else struggled deciding between EcoBoost and GT for daily driver?

I was dead set on getting a 24 EB to use as a daily driver, so much so that I have one on order. The last few days a voice inside my head said I need to at least consider the GT. Wondering if anyone else here has gone through this same scenario and if so what was your decision along with some of...
  13. Front inner wheel well issues

Wow that is pretty disappointing. I was hopeful that Ford did indeed make a change but it appears not...
  14. Check engine light on my 2.3L

So are they going to replace your sister in law's engine? Was her car stock or did she have a tune or other mod's on it? 30K seems crazy but hopefully Ford has fixed this issue by now.
  15. Any potential issues with buying 24 EB for daily driver with plans of keeping it for 10+ years?

Yes I do like the fact that they did add port injection. I haven't asked this about the EB yet but do you know how involved it is with changing the oil? I know with the 24 GT it was mentioned having to take off the bottom felt cover so you don't drip oil all over it when changing it. I'm curious...
  16. Any potential issues with buying 24 EB for daily driver with plans of keeping it for 10+ years?

Yes the inner wheel well issues do indeed have my full attention. It sounds like Ford might have made some sort of change to this design on Job 2 cars but unfortunately I haven't seen an actual picture of the supposed new design yet. I'm thinking worse case some sort of aftermarket fix should...
  17. Check engine light on my 2.3L

Wow glad you got it fixed promptly but having an issue after only 200 miles isn't fun. I get it that things happen but still. How are you liking your EB overall? I actually have one on order but I'm getting a little nervous about it to be honest. I plan on using my EB for my daily driver with...
  18. Any potential issues with buying 24 EB for daily driver with plans of keeping it for 10+ years?

I really like the idea of buying a 24 EB for use as a daily driver. I've test driven two of them and it is a fun car to drive with plenty of power and decent gas mileage, etc. I've even placed an order for one. I know Ford has revamped the 2.3 EB quite a bit for the MY24 which should be a good...
  19. Predelivery inspection failure

Just to confirm you are saying there is still a hole in the front wheel wells in that location and that it's smaller now?
  20. Predelivery inspection failure

Did you happen to see my question to you in post #5 above?
