interesting. Iāve followed Mustang rumors for a long time and donāt remember the 3.0. I do remember that Ford actually had a 6 as the base and ecoboost as the option between base and GT. I think that gets muddy though. Those who want the eco 6 would be few compared to the v8 and its added...
performsnce tuned turbo offers less hp and a more torque.
and sounds like farts.
no thanks.
now imagine ford offering a performance tune for a turbo 5.0.
THATs a muscle car.
are you sure thatās not due to competing cabin noise. I have Harmon kardon in the bmw snd at first I thought it was was a waste of cash with lack of separation. But I always drove in Sport and Sport plus modes, which are fairly loud. In comfort mode and non- spirited driving, itās quite good...
test drove an m340i (among others) before landing on the z4 m40i with a certain female in my life.
the bmw is a nice looking, quick, and enjoyable vehicle.
however, the Mustang has that glorious 5.0 v8 which sounds so much better and is quicker still.
in the exterior department, the Mustang...
not every piece will be there. But if not carbon, perhaps another lighter material. And the idea of ford cutting corners actually makes sense here because they are getting Gtd customers to underwrite development with the price.
Just a crazy thought.
youāre completely missing my point.
Iāve posted elsewhere thst the Gtd could be a totally new platform thst ford is selling so high in order to get the platform to somewhat pay for itself.
t
If Iām right, future mustangs will be based on the Gtd.
thays shat they said about the ZR1. Now itās got an FPC and TT.
an E-hybrid would be more time consuming to engineer if they havenāt done so already. Ford is an expert on turbos though. And a twin turbo CPC will launch harder than an FPC.
if the GTD can mail the launch AND handle like it was...
@MAT1955 itās great that there are many aftermarket options for Mustang performamce and most of us are aware of them. No doubt there will be more over the years as people donāt quite feel satisfied with the current lineup or prices. Even these ābalanced aftermarket buildsā however, wonāt touch...
while we are still waiting for concrete power and āring times, Iām thinking there is no way to match the GTD suspension without sending your car to multimatic.
you may possibly get your car to go faster in s straight line (on slicks), but around s track? Doubtful. Then, all your camera crew...
Super clean install.
And it sounds amazing.
let us know the dyno results!
Also, if you can inform us on the before and after vehicle weight, that would be awesome.
which is why:
1) Ford should make cats agsin
2) ford should develop a next gen platform for these cars that is lighter and more rigid
3) multiple cars with distinct identities can share the same platform.
ford put the mustang in a tough spot when it decided to up and cancel cars. And then they...
or look at it the reality way - the Mustang is selling the way it is (decent for a pony car - and yet better than the Mach e suv) BECAUSE Ford hasnāt put its best engineers on the job.
itās just the s550 with more glitter painted on.
Everyone knows this. And yet Ford is charging GT350 money...
lol. We are in agreement. The 70s. SUCKED. The 90s jelly bean stuff was absolute trash. I do think the 97-93 Fox was pretty sweet though.
I was never a fan of s197 and no it doesnāt look as āgoodā as thst sketch. But the sketch does look like a cartoon/caricature version of the s197 with some...
thays all weāve been saying.
Nothing wrong with having a 4 door performance sedan. In fact thatās a great idea.
but itās not a mustang. Call it something else - falcon, thunderbird, etc. and give it a distinct identity.
