Unrelated but my 03 GT has been doing this since I purchased it and it now has 200k + miles on original engine and tranny.... I've been told it's the tranny pump. A Ford thing.
Not to scratch an old wound but what puzzles me is why some cars have the tick and others do not? Also why many report after the first oil change? As an engineer that troubles me. I am suspecting that like others have said, some people just don't notice it which is going to skew the data. My...
My Mustang had less than 10 miles on it. I forget the exact number but it was around 4 miles. My wife's 2024 VW Atlas had 35 miles on it. The bonus points for that was all the PCM/Modules had been updated prior to us picking up the Atlas.
Great thread! So my question is how do you guys who live in northern locations with snow, salt etc wash your cars in the winter assuming no garage? I turn off my outdoor water spigots so they don't freeze and crack the pipes... TIA...
I have a minor bumper fascia gap on the driver's side. Brought back to dealer and they showed me several cars on the lot that were the same or worse. Other than that, all my panels fit well. My standard is German cars, even VW, where gaps are even and very small. Mine are good though and when...
I ordered X-Plan and initially the spare tire was No-Charge. At some point along the way the online window sticker showed a charge for $415.00 . When I picked up the car, it was not only at the original X-Plan price but i got an extra $1000.00 off due to some current promo. Bottom line, dealer...
I chose a Premium 401a with AE and auto. My reasoning is I will never track the car. I like the twisty curves and spirited driving though but most of my driving is around town and trips up to the mountains. I enjoy the creature comforts / gadgets and from my line of thinking I can always...
My iPhone 8 Plus would semi charge but get real hot to the point where the phone would stop charging with an error message saying something about temperature. No case. It worked fine in the wifey's 2024 VW Atlas. I upgraded to an iPhone 14 and put it in a case with one of those circular rings on...
Interesting thread... So my question is, does installing the STB cause any major interference for routine maintenance? Stuff like plugs etc.. I get it id removing heads and stuff like that will be difficult.
I did the same. I have a little Faraday box at home that all of the key fobs go in. I tested it by putting a fob in it and walking out to the car and no greet, nothing, so it works. I have a pouch when traveling. It passed the test as well.
As others have said you really can't compare insurance rates except with yourself. So for me, my 24 Mustang costs exactly $40 / year more than my 2003 GT vert for the same coverage. It's the safety and anti-theft features that drop the rate.
I was thinking of getting one of those under-carriage trolleys to spray off the underside of the car in winter but since it's freezing cold here during winter (NY) my outside spigots are turned off.
