To be honest, I feel like a large part of our community is tired of Carbon Fiber everything. Its really bad when the companies don't offer non-carbon fiber options. Sigh....

Exactly i feel that most new s650 owners don’t like carbon fiber and wont buy it. I would much rather have matte/satin black close to oem finish

IMHO, real Carbon Fiber is more then visual, it is a composite that is much lighter and has the same if not more trength of stress and strain with flexibility. I look as Carbon FIber as a might lighter and stronger material then aluminum to be used in that respect. I really don't look at it from a visual perspective. So I think Carbon Fiber is an advancement in automobile racing and daily driving. Remember Carbon Fiber can be painted, little different procedure, but comes out beautiful.

Agreed with that if u are actually making weight savings. But if we are talking front lip, is the carbon fiber one lighter then abs and if yes whats the difference 0.1 lb? So i think that for exterior stuff like that it doesn’t rly make any difference

Good points on both ends. Most people will do carbon just because it looks cool, this car is so heavy, I dont think we are worried about weight! And expensive, so I know I would be worried about damage! I did install some carbon interior bits, Looks great!

I come from the Road Race World, and every ounce you save is imperative for the race car. So my perspective so you are correct from the world of every day use. However, carbon fiber used for visual is like everything else moderation. I personally will be installing a front chin spoiler in carbon fiber, and the hood vent in carbon fiber, as I prefer the look and feel the ABS plastic in black looks unfinished, using flex paint it looks great and I have thought of doing that, but just did not want complication of sanding and shooting, did that and don;t want all the work involved, so my answer is carbon fiber. Great that everyone has choices, as one is just as good as another, comes down to personal likes.

Make it black at a lower cost and people will purchase.
Way too expensive for the average consumer.

Oh one other thing, carbon fiber used as a Chine spoiler will crack and split if hit with curb or road hazzard. Trust me I have fixed many with duct tape and repairing them. So abs might be little better to absorb the curb, but eventually it does dry out and becomes brittle too. So not saying CF is the answer, answer is alert driving.

You are correct, go to Ebay and you will find may for very low prices. I found when you spend a little more you get better material and fit. I would never spend over $500 for a Chin Spoiler. Most street cars do not need specialized spoiler, even if you just go to the track on occasion, your street car is NOT set up for total track performance even if you have the Performance Package. Road Race, Trans Am dedicated track cars cannot be driven on the street everyday or as grocery getter regardless what most think. Putting track performance on street cars IMHO is a waste of money and never will be tested to their full capacity to perform.

Yea that makes sense. I personally dont have anything against carbon fiber i just dont like how it looks. And i would like to have more options besides carbon fiber. But it is good that its there for people who like it, and especially for people who are racing and need it :)

This.... I'd rather spend over $1k on power gains instead of a lip that will mostly like be breaking and or taking a beating.

I can get Tuner/Tune and downpipe on my ecoboost for around the same price of their front lip which is $1.2k on their site.

Oh I agree totally…
My 1,000$ is going to a tune and I’ll find 300$ front splinter.
