Like others, I, too, am waiting for numbers with the 10-speed automatic transmission. I read the article but didn't find any reference to fuel octane. Do we know what they used in their tests, or is it assumed they would use a 91-octane? (It might be obvious to others, so I apologize if I'm ignorant of the process.)

It will be interesting to see how the 10 spd's do in the 1/4 given that the gen 4 is about 20-25hp higher in the 6-7.5k range than the gen3 and it's not falling off over 7k. Since that's the range the 10spd will be in the whole time.

So essentially besides the tremec six speed, the “daily driving experience is essentially the same. Unless you fully intend to track your dark horse about at least 6-15 times a year, just get a Gt. I prefer the looks of the dark horse too, and I know it has better hardware for track use. I just don’t like that the performance is still going to be identical. Also knowing the fact that Ford can make the GT as capable as the Dark Horse from the start.

Those are some pretty dang sandbagged numbers.

these guys aren’t pushing the Mustang just going through the paces it appears.

not new though. Gotta wonder where the lack of enthusiasm comes from.
These numbers aren't sandbagged lol. The S650 gained 20 horsepower and 130 pounds over the previous S550. Were you expecting GT350 times?

They use the highest octane available in the area they are testing in.

Here is the numbers for the 2019 PP2 car, PP2 car is on the left.

S650 Mustang Tested Performance Numbers: 2024 Mustang Dark Horse (by Car and Driver) 1693413200627

Not much of an improvement at all over the S550. The DH is 1mph faster in the 1/4 mile, but the PP2 car is quicker to 130mph...in this test they didn't test to 150mph.

I am kind of shocked even with the better tranny ratios it wasn't any quicker than the S650 GT nor the PP2 car.

Hell it isn't really any quicker than the 2018 test they did, the difference is so slight. from 0-150 the 2018 is quicker.

The good news is that both the GT ( 23.5 seconds ) and the Dark Horse ( 23.3 seconds ) do the 0-150 MPH test over 2 seconds faster than a 1LE which takes 25.6 seconds to do the deed. Isn't that like 20 car lengths or something lolllllllllllll

The 2018 Mustang GT manual test by C&D did the 0-150mph test in 23 sec flat.

What's sad is the BMW M2 is kicking the shit out of these cars, for pretty much the same price of the DH.

Do you know if that was before they changed the gearing in the Getrag? I think they put longer gearing in the Getrag sometime around then. If they changed it after 2018 maybe that's why it fell off some. Obviously the car keeps getting heavier too.

The M2 makes much more power on the Dyno as well.

Even the M240i XDrive beats it in most tests as well...... albeit with a ZF Auto and AWD.......and at $52K.
