Live in NY, buying in NJ questions NJ inspection

I currently have NJ temp plates and will be transferring my NY plates. Car is new.
Do I need an NJ inspection sticker until my NY registrations arrive?

Also, how long until I get my NY registration?

That depends on where in NY you are from,
The Temp tag is good for 60 days, the car should've been inspected before you left the dealership! You will be required to get it inspected in NY once you get it registered!

I live in NYC.. The temp tag is only good for 30 days. So how long until I get my NY registration

What kind of transfer papers did you sign at the dealership?
They should send in the paperwork for you, if there is a Ioan on the car!
N.Y. normally takes 10 business days to process!
If you have your own transfer paperwork you can go to DMV and do it yourself

They are transferring the plates. No loaner, Im in my new stang with temp plates that expire in 30 days.

Ok keep an eye out for the plate and new registration, after you get it then you will have to get the emissions test and inspection
