Hoping for some interesting changes on the S650. Although I am very happy with the S550.
I would like to see all wheel drive and MUCH improved paint and panel fit.

Lighter, would be incredible. But unlikely.

Hello everyone,

I have been dreaming of a Mustang since our neighbour returning (to Germany) from the US (he was a pilot) had given me a very special present for my birthday: A large framed photo of himself in a red Mustang convertible. It was my 6th birthday. The year was 1966.

In retrospect Iā€˜ve got to admit that it has been this model (plus its ā€œupdatesā€ in the next two years may be - before it lost its proportions) that had shaped my idea and ideal of a pony/muscle car for a long time. And to be honest: The generations II-IV may have been fine cars - they just werenā€™t Mustangs in my eyes.

But though I have never buried my schoolboy dream of owning a 1966(-68) Mustang convertible some day I have new dream now:
A Gen7 convertible, ideally a V8 Plug-in Hybrid, AWD if available (manual or automatic doesnā€™t matter).

It started with the first photos of the 5th generation (S-197) in 2004. The so called ā€œretro-futurismā€ (J. Mays) somehow (mellowness of age?) really appealed to me.
In 2012 I escaped a conference in Seattle and flew to Vancouver Island for a long weekend. I had rented a (practically new) convertible that was brought to the airfield. I was still in the plane when I saw it first - a black beauty - and it was love at first sight. I walked around it first admiring each perspective, then I opened the door and seeing that Mustang on the ground put a little smile on my face. Which grew to a really big grin once I had started the engine (a ā€œCoyoteā€œ V8 I believe).

Itā€™s about time one of my Mustang dreams comes true.

I've only owned two Mustangs -- a 2001 GT and now a 2022 GT. I am honestly not planning to be in the market again anytime soon....

That said, I came here to just learn what the future holds for the Mustang.

Also, is the elephant in the room being addressed? ............ Will there be NO 2023 model Mustang? Just 2022 .... slight gap .... then 2024?

This is my car (2022 GT base, Black Accent, 6-speed, Grabber Blue Metallic):

Hi all,
I've got a 2013 GT/CS that I would like to say I'm in the process of BOSS302-ing (Brembos, shocks/springs and sway bars) for track duty. I'm super interested in the next gen mustang since I moved out to Michigan from California to work on them. After 6 years out here I finally got to start working on validating some parts that are going to be on the next gen mustang, and I can't wait for them to be available so I can potentially buy one myself šŸ¤—

Here's the Red Comet that I bought last year. I really wanted a 5.0, and S550s were out of my (self-imposed) price range. I work for a company that manufactures the brakes for a lot of different automotive companies. I can't say much more than that, but I will say I will be able to test one in a couple weeks!

That's gorgeous......the '13/'14 remains one of my favourite Mustangs, I love the California Special!

As for testing one in a couple of weeks.....keep us posted. I appreciate you can't tell us anything but just to know you've ridden in an S650 prototype is super-cool!

I'm on my 2nd S550. Looking forward to the S650 release. Will I consider buying one? It depends. :)

Came over from 6G. Just traded the 18 GT, and here to get excited for the 7G. Till then, you will see me in a 2022 Explorer Timberline or 2022 F-150 XLT FX4.

I think I had an account at 6G but lost my credentials a long time ago (I was also very inactive). The news and announcement of the S650 rekindled my interest in the platform.

I am still on my first and only Mustang 2015 S550. It is an EcoBoost model that was pretty much spec'd out other than the Navigation and Sound System. (Premium, MT, Performance Package, Leather Recaro) I just recently added charcoal RTR Aero7's.

The announcement yesterday solidified my next purchase. Will be gunning for a S650 GT at the minimum for the next Mustang!
