With the new v8 hybrid engine, will it be more expensive and complicated to maintain?

Anyone think they’ll just take the F150 hybrid design and re-use that? Also, hybrids don’t need to worry much about battery deg because they don’t rely on the battery for much more than dynamic braking and torque fill. They still use gasoline for range. Also, the GT350 barely gets 300 miles...

S650 mule spotted..........with all wheel drive?

IMO the biggest hindrance to electric vehicle adoption is recharge time and infrastructure, not range. My GT350 has a highway range of about 300 miles, maybe a bit more, and while it is on the low side for an ICE vehicle, the car is still great for road trips. I know that it will be relatively...

    Get a Shelby NOW? or Wait for the S650 ? ? ? ?

I personally prefer the GT350, but the GT500 is by all accounts an amazing car. Every review has praised it extensively, and Randy Pobst pegged it as his “best drivers car” in the latest Motor Trend comparison (where it came in second overall to a Lamborghini). The two Shelby models have shown...

Mustang S650 Design Previewed by ‘Progressive Energy In Strength’ Sculpture

IMO the issue with the 6th gen Camaro was not that it was similar to the 5th gen, but rather that all the updates made the car worse as an everyday vehicle. By all accounts, the 6th gen Camaro was a better sports car than the Mustang, but not as roomy, more difficult to see out of, less cargo...

    S650 cancelled?

Hopefully the higher-ups at Ford understand the need to invest in product now in order to have something to sell in 5 years. Regarding EV’s, keep in mind that power use is not constant throughout the day. The grid might be near capacity in the middle of a hot summer day, but electricity use...

    2021 MUSTANG (S650) - 7th Generation Mustang Confirmed

I had a Bassett hound named Chumley when I was growing up. He was great! When he’d escape the yard he’d walk a few miles to the local pizza place and hang out there getting leftover salami and sausage. They’d call to let us know that they had our dog again. Nice user name. -T

    2021 MUSTANG (S650) - 7th Generation Mustang Confirmed

Rear seats were definitely a factor in choosing the GT350 over the C7. Also the engine. And the looks. But I have an 8 and 10 year old so the rear seats have allowed me to drive the car much more frequently than I would otherwise. -T

Mustang Hybrid (S650) Announced, Debuts in 2020

If I could get a hybrid mustang with 40 MPG that was still fun to drive, I'd gladly add that as a commuter car rather than a Prius or similar. Would be sweet to see an EB engine with 250 or so HP (tuned for higher REV performance) along with an 80 HP electric motor to fill in the low-end...

    2021 MUSTANG (S650) - 7th Generation Mustang Confirmed

I would also agree that the S550 platform isn't as far behind the Alpha as some are implying. It might be true that the GTPP isn't at the same level as the SS or 1LE, and maybe the GT350 and 1LE are going to be neck and neck, but that isn't due to the platform IMO, but rather due to the...
