  1. How do we save the mustang?

The intake in my truck is quite a bit taller, feeding it would be interesting too
  2. How do we save the mustang?

The current F-150 5.0L runs an 87 mm throttle body like the S550 GT-350 and Mach 1 so likely would need to cobble some parts together to feed the larger throttle body. The S550 GT throttle body is significantly smaller than the F-150 at 80 mm. I’d bet you’d gain a fat chunk of low end torque and...
  3. How do we save the mustang?

The F-150 5.0L has much longer and larger intake runners and a lower profile lobe on the intake cam. The 5.0 in the F-150 has about 60 lb ft more torque than the Mustang version at 2,500 rpm so they aren’t exactly apples to apples. There is a good video where they put the GT manifold on an...
  4. How do we save the mustang?

    Fuel mileage is an exact match between the 5.0 V8 & 3.5 EB. Both are 16 City/ 24 HWY for a 4x4 F-150:
  5. How do we save the mustang?

I don’t understand how people think an EcoBoost as the flagship saves anything. Look at the F-150 EPA sticker, the 3.5 EB and 5.0 V8 both make the same NoX and carbon emissions. The 3.5 EcoBoost is at the end of its production life cycle and is BARELY squeaking by with an EGR that was added as a...
  6. Boss Mustang S650 Maybe Coming Soon (via January 2025 Trademark Filing)

Exhaust side placement of the direct injector with upwards spray pattern within the combustion chamber rather than the traditional placement on the intake valve side. Better cools the intake charge and exhaust valves allowing for higher compression ratios on pump gas. It’s in its infancy but...
  7. Boss Mustang S650 Maybe Coming Soon (via January 2025 Trademark Filing)

There is still room to move the 5.0 up on the power scale without boost. Hot side DI, upping compression to 13:1, yada yada. The 5.0 is only at the end of the line if Ford chooses it to be so. Look at what GM is doing with the 5.5L Gemini, 670 HP naturally aspirated on pump gas with a 12.5:1...
  8. Thoughts if we will see High Horsepower (SC) Dark Horse

They are doing another Boss model (last done as Boss 302 in 2012). Which is usually a special variant of an N/A motor. Ford filed for use of the name last week. I’d expect a more powerful N/A engine like the Boss 302 or 5.2 Flat Plane Crank.
  9. Ford Teases "New Addition to the Mustang Stable" Coming in 2025

I think it’s the 5.0L V8 Hybrid, here is the patent Ford filed for it around 2020. Farley also confirmed a hybrid V8 is “very possible” on a phone call this April. In this design the Coyote drives the rear wheels and then the front axle has two tractive electric drive motors. Screw the shelby...
  10. Official: 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona (EV + ICE), Scat Pack, Daytona R/T Revealed! 670 Horsepower / 0-60mph in 3.3 Secs

Agreed, this 3.0 is also running 26 psi of boost, it appears to be near the upper edge of its limit in stock form for pump gas. The Coyote isn’t even at 50% of its limit factory sealed. Dodge also seems to have taken many cues from the 5.0’s technology (DOHC + Plasma cylinder liners). All in all...
  11. Official: 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona (EV + ICE), Scat Pack, Daytona R/T Revealed! 670 Horsepower / 0-60mph in 3.3 Secs

Hybrid front drive added to Dark Horse 5.0L easily stomps this HO Hurricane I-6, and will run right along the BEV. Hopefully Fords next powertrain is a parallel hybrid V-8. I’m done with the 6 cylinder everything narrative myself, they are fine but not everything needs to be the same. Would...
  12. Gen 4 Coyote 5.0L V8 Specs & Photos (S650 Mustang)

The standard GT engine has a few more updates than meets the eye. The connecting rods are updated as it now shares the part # with the 21+ F-150 engine. You can see the flange is a tad thinner, which is likely resulting in better throttle response/ less windage losses. For N/A lightest and...
