Amazes me how Ford can drop the ball so bad on the configurator, still doesn't update anything. Glad to see the 24 Ranger builder is up and works in full capacity, guess the extra weeks they had for it really allowed them to finish it properly.
My bet is Yellow Splash is 24 only, and maybe Vapor Blue. I see Grabber Blue staying since itās also featured on the Mach-E, and Ford loves their neutral colors, so I donāt see them going anywhere.
Ford has had one year colors now since 17 or 18, and they typically have been the āexoticā color...
It would appear so that the CD player is gone, didnāt see it mentioned in the option guide with the B&O, plus looking at all interior shots of the car thereās no visible slot for it. Iām not even sure thereās space for them to put it in.
I find it kind of strange that they made it easier to get HD radio in the car now by just having the 9 speaker system and satellite radio, but dropped AM where we couldāve made use of the sub channels.
Since I wonāt be getting one anytime soon, the color choices donāt matter to me much, but when the time comes itāll be the most āexoticā color they have for that year, be it purple, orange, yellow, or green (totally not biased on the last one).
It may not be a direct 1:1, but I donāt see Ford not using the Mach 1 as the benchmark for the new 5.0 to try and at least be within the same metrics. Ford did the same thing with the 550 5.0 and the outgoing Boss at the time, that was the standard they wanted to achieve, but they didnāt give...
Keep in mind, this is the same company that decided to split the old EB PP into two parts once they released the HPP and then charge $7k if you want both packages while a 5.0 is only a few thousand more at that point.
It would be nice, but I wouldn't get my hopes up. Ford seems to never think about adding things as baseline or as an optional package for things the competition has available (like heated seats for cloth interiors). The new GT does check off the "we used the previous higher end model as the...
Itās not just Ford, Iāve seen other models across different car makes that do the whole ātablet glued to the dashā look, but I recall those models being mostly suvs. Just disappointed they couldnāt think of a way to make it integrated into the dash.
Aside from me not being a fan of those tablet...
I will want to see one in person still, but Iām baffled how they couldnāt incorporate the screen on either trim level into the dash. The 18+ digital cluster looks good due to being housed in the bezel, they couldnāt figure out how to move it over into a new design?
I havenāt been planning on...
Was going through the press photos on the Motortrend website and saw this photo of the rear glass. Nice touch to include all 7 gen profiles, a bit reminiscent of what Dodge does on the Challenger and Charger, so while not too original it's a neat nod.
Exterior looks fine, definitely an evolution of the 550. Not a big fan of the Dark Horse badging, look like it came out of a 90s era comic book. Also hugely dislike the instrument panel now. It's just one big rectangular slab now. What makes me like the 18+ digital cluster was the bezel still...
I'm sure it makes some okay money. What I never figured out was if the HPP engine they used were ones they had left over from the RS, or if they just added the stuff to an EB 2.3 to get it there. With the RS gone, they probably aren't producing those parts, so would it slow to a trickle and stop...
I think it gets dropped for the S650, as I'm sure the take rate on the option has to be pretty low. I think I've seen all of two since it's been available. I've never really been a fan of the idea either, as they decided to split up the old Performance Package into the engine and handling stuff...
