Not really. I have 1LE wheels and tires on my car. They’re 285 in the front, 305 in the rear. Dark Horse basically has my rear tires on the front And even more rubber on the rear.
I’m at Jacob Javitz center in NYC for Auto Show press days today and tomorrow. Here’s a few snapshots of Dark Horse. Still have trouble wrapping my mind around the idea of 305s on the front.
Was minding my own business this afternoon and came upon this pair out for testing. Both 5.0. A coupe and a convertible.
That building in the background over the convertible? Ford HQ.
So I was standing next to the Dark Horse with a coworker who owns an S550 convertible. We were looking across at the GT convertible on the stand. Unsolicited, he says to me “actually the rear quarter looks closer to your car than mine”. Miscellaneous guy next to him chimes in “I kept telling...
Dinner ran long so I got there too late to take meaningful pics. But I’ll see it on the stand tomorrow morning and should be able to get useful pics, including interior shots.
Specs so far…no hybrid, no AWD. 500+ hp in top Dark Horse trim. Tremec 3160 for the Dark Horse (yes!!). MPC 2.3T...
FWIW - I think the duck is tied to a thing where Jeep owners play some form of “duck duck goose” and anonymously leave a rubber duck on the dash of other Wrangler owners.
Glad I can add some useful input. I am sooo embarrassed I didn’t answer your pm. I literally didn’t see it until I logged in to post my last message.
I’m heading to dinner and then to the Mustang 7 reveal press conference. Pics to follow. In the meantime a few walking pics of the S7ampede forming outside of Hart Plazea where the reveal is happening.
Only because I get paid to make these distinctions…
Mild Hybrid: Typically low voltage as far as hybrids go. Most are 48V. Some of the older ones were 108V. They are not capable of moving the car with the engine off. They are capable of fuel saving through early shut-off on decel. They are...
Most PHEVs can charge on 240. In fact I don’t know of one that doesn’t. We’ve had Chevrolet Volts in our household since 2011. We have a Level 2 charger in the garage. The 18.1 kWh battery charges to full in about 4 hours or so. We go months without putting gas in it, so the extra $25 or so...
Z06 is not a mild hybrid. There is expectation that the Grand Sport replacement will be a full hybrid (hoping like hell they don’t actually intend to call it E-Ray). Not a plug-in hybrid (nowhere to put a 10+ kWh battery), but a full hybrid.
I’m not sure what to make of this. Pedro Maradei is in my LinkedIn connection circle. I’ve never met him, because we are 3rd level connected. If you’re on LinkedIn you probably get that. My point is, his experience level at Ford as of today is LESS THAN what is shown in this post. So...
It’s possible but not likely for anything that is to be considered high volume. Some European brands are considering that because they don’t have the brand volume to fund two different platforms, especially if one of them is electric only. Ford is sorta doing that now with the F150 BEV that’s...
