  1. Mustang Chief Engineer Confirms Locked ECU, making S650 tune more difficult

Good for you then. But I wasn't asking about older cars that you already own. I'm asking what is the alternative to buy since you obviously won't be buying another new Mustang ever again. A Civic? People keep saying how they're not going to buy this or that if it has this or that feature or...
  2. Mustang Chief Engineer Confirms Locked ECU, making S650 tune more difficult

And what other car will you buy instead? The EV Charger/Challenger? I'm assuming you're against EVs. The extinct (for 2024) Camaro? A $90,000 C8? A Stinger GT? What options do you have? You do realize tho that ALL future cars will have locked ECUs right?
  3. Mustang Chief Engineer Confirms Locked ECU, making S650 tune more difficult

They won't lose customers. And we will buy locked cars. Why? Because, what are the alternatives? A 300 HP Camry? I'd rather buy a locked fully optioned 500 HP Mustang than buy a Camry. Ford won't lose sales. because for every customer willing to walk away, there are 5 more willing to buy. back...
  4. Mustang Chief Engineer Confirms Locked ECU, making S650 tune more difficult

I'm not sure how that is a realistic statement considering the "arthritic dog with a punctured lung" runs low 12s and keeps up with the current (18+) GT with nothing more than a trans upgrade from the factory since 2016. The point is that GM tuned the LT1 to the point that an aftermarket tune is...
  5. Mustang Chief Engineer Confirms Locked ECU, making S650 tune more difficult

That's weird then. Because the only tunes people are using are piggy back devices. So I'm not sure of any of this. But like I said, there are many ways or the manufacturer to prevent or discourage people from actually tuning especially now that the ECU can basically report it to them and rat you...
  6. Mustang Chief Engineer Confirms Locked ECU, making S650 tune more difficult

Long reply warning. My thoughts are this. Nobody will be able to crack the ECUs. Especially now that they're all wifi and stuff. Sure there might be something where you have to accept the update. But most likely Ford will have it written into every agreement that if the ECU detects tampering...
