Evolutionary generally means LESS change.
That's interesting. Although all new, I'm guess no major material changes or design changes.
Or perhaps minimal design and mostly material. Lol teasers.
The hood and fender are aluminum (at least on the gt350, I believe GT as well).
Since the unibody is steel the roof as an aluminum cover basically will save 15lbs. The K-member will be carbon composite on the next model saving roughly 22lbs. Not much to be had there eh?
I get it, I really do.
I also don't think people understand the benefit of sandwhiching a motor inbetween the engine and transmission. The vehicle can remain rwd, NA, V8, all of that and be better in every way. Heck, people don't actually understand what hybridization for performance even...
I'm shocked at how many people here don't really understand what a hybrid is.
The quickest 0-60 vehicle on earth right now is a hybrid with a NATURALLY ASPIRATED V8.
Go figure.
I'm starting to really question if people truly know what hybrid means lol.
It's not a bad thing. It'll be terrible for the minimalist approach however.
As far as I can tell reading between the lines, this will NOT be a PHEV hybrid.
I honestly doubt ford will have electric only range...
It actually should be. The 3.5 is too damn heavy. People don't realize it's around 50lbs heavier than a coyote. This of course includes intercooler, associated piping etc.
The 2.3 should be reworked with a variable guide vane turbo (think new Cayman S) that will breath on the top end. A...
Ford is on the edge of a blade if you ask me. I love and hate the idea of a hybrid.
I'm not sure if people understand the actual weight gain involved here.
The 3.5 ecoboost weighs about 10-25lbs more than a coyote. A voodoo weighs 13lbs less than a coyote.
A hybrid system with motors...
