I invite you to go look a photo of the full size Bronco steering wheel, then the S650, then your Ford GT and see which is the closer inspiration. Again, I am not the only one to make a similar comment !
Well, there are multiple online reviews with video inside and very close up, so I think we have a good perspective, of which I based my comments. We can only hope the actual production interior will have a few changes, but I would not expect much.
It seems that quite a few members have...
In my opinion I not only dislike the design but just as important to me is the choice of materials.
The plastic striped carbon fiberish trim all around the dash looks beyond cheap. (I believe it is the same pattern used in some trim levels of the MachE). My base 34K 2015 S550 even has an...
Steering wheel... that large squared off truck like center section, oh my, and please let that not be chrome finish on the spokes, oh my.
That tall squared off dash, please let it be be too much padding to cover it up. Like zoinks, Scoob.
At least the exhaust sounds terrific.
When I look at the tail lights of the MachE I cannot unsee the rhino animal shape from the extended center section moving inward. I would have to use black in that section between the tail lights to fix that.
These are ok for a lady to drive, but I would have to wear a matching color neck scarf like Fred from the Scooby Do cartoon for it to work for me, and I am all out of neck scarfs......
Those interior seat patterns though, 'like zoinks Scoob'....
I remember back in 2005 when the new S197 Mustang was first shown at the Carlise show the engineers at the Ford display said the exhaust note for the GT was taken from the 03-04 Mach1 sound. Could history repeat with the new S650 GT sound using the 21-22 Mach1 as the benchmark. There are photos...
The TRX wheels (I assume those are the ones you are referring to) are one of my absolute favorites. I have a 1984 GT with the original metric size wheels that I had restored. 1984 was the last year for those. 1994-95 GT had a great looking 17" optional wheel that was styled like that.
As long as they offer silver wheels I would be happy. The dark/black rims to me are not as attractive, unless they have a silver outer trim ring like the base Mach1.
I agree with you. I too have a 2015 GT and I still get compliments. One person and his young son recently commented that they liked my car over the new Mustangs on the lot! I realize it is indeed early, but from what I have seen so far of the S650 (interior and exterior) I am not excited. I...
About the interior, I keep saying 'where have I seen this before'? The new dash reminds me of the later refreshed Fox body interior, with rectangle vents in the middle down low, 'driver centric' dash pod and blocky style steering . Very 80's to me. The sketch above kinda confirmed my thoughts...
AWD in a Mustang is my dream!! I personally am not really into trucks or SUVs. I would love to be able to give the finger to the snowy forecast in the winter. I drive my Mustangs all year round. Imagine the increase in sales worldwide if they could be driven in northern climates. Maybe...
I have an SN95 and a New Edge Mustang. They are much more cramped inside compared to my S550, especially in the interior width. I think the interior/exterior dimensions of the S550 are very good. I also have a Fox body and the interior dimensions are very generous for the size of the car...
I agree totally with Wildcatgoal. All i see are high tech cool stuff for the Mustang that very few average people can afford any longer. 50K plus Bullitt, 80K GT500, and if the Mach1 ever appears for the Mustang 60K, are examples. Just give me some options of a low priced entry level GT like I...
While here in reality land, at my dealership we can't give away plug-in hybrids and the electric Focus (bet ya didn't know one existed). Super Dutys, F-150, Explorers selling like candy.
Oh, and in my opinion, Mach1 name for an SUV is not genius, but just lazy. Younger customers that these...
