It's just reality - there honestly is very little that changed in 7th generation. Mid-engine would have to be a completely new platform and to think that in this environment Ford would invest in it is insanity. Most of the money would go towards EVs.

Given that 7th gen has basically cosmetic changes vs 6th one, mid-engine Mustang is pure fantasy (heritage of a front engined car, it being a Pony car and all that aside). Ford clearly isn't putting any money in development of it - at all.

It's pretty simple - corporate play to make more money. Why make it available for everyone to tune while you can sell access to tuning to those tuners that want to pay (that's what partnered with means).
