The 5.0 has been rock solid reliable for many years. This engine will be no different and in fact has stronger connecting rods. Get a reliable tune and you have nothing to worry about. If your tuner pushes every bit of timing possible out because you wanted them to, then you can kiss your...
I still wouldn't put 87 octane in my Mach 1 when I rev it out to 7800 RPM. Besides, it's tuned for 93/E85 and redlines at 8k. Stop being cheap shits and put the right fuel in it.
Mach 1 HP was a bargain back in 21 especially if you got it under 2% invoice pricing. That comes out to around $58k + TTL. I paid MSRP for mine because of the cancellation of my order. :frown:
So far Ford has only given Whipple any sort of permission as far as tuning goes and we all know Whipple's tunes are heavily conservative in comparison with an aftermarket tuner. How is a locked down ECU superior?
Why are you drag racing a car with coolers meant for road coursing? You people are silly. Same goes for people who drag race a Mach 1. There's a GT for a reason.
Since when does running E85 mean you're only chasing 1/4 mile times? You do realize you can road course on E85 too, right? All I'm saying is until someone cracks it, the Mach 1 is superior to any of these due to the fact that it can be tuned. If you're worried about your warranty for bolt ons...
Reading through this whole thread as I'm currently tuning my Mach 1 on E85 which will have more power than any of these and a GT350 in stock form. Lol. The fact that you can't tune these will be a huge turn off to me. The stock tunes always feel so mild and the lack of using E85 is really...
It's sad that they left the redline at 7400 on the Mach 1. The good news is a tune can move it up to 8000 and without changing any parameters I wonder what the true HP value would be since it utilizes the 350 manifold. If they rev out the Dark Horse higher I bet they'll get that 500 hp number...
The Bullitt literally rotted on dealer lots and had 10k+ off MSRP discounts just to get them out. It was overpriced to begin with and wasn't really that special outside of color and badges. I would be shocked if they actually did an S650 version. I'm hoping we'll see a BOSS this round.
By the time these are ready to be purchased, you'll be buying a 50k GT at 4-5% and that's with excellent credit. Lets not even get started with the 84 month crowd with the $1200 a month payments. This car is quickly moving into the unaffordable category for many.
It's going to be just like a stock S550 18+ except this time the vents already suck air straight from the grill so just get some aftermarket filters and call it a day. Don't waste money on aftermarket.
