    S650 Validation Complete

If you've driven a number of new cars you will notice significant differences in the cars that the engineers spend more time on. I noticed a big difference in the level of polish between a GT and GT350, for example. Just minor things, not a huge deal, but IMO they matter and I'm glad for Ford...

Dark Horse Mustang in different colors sketches posted by Ford Performance

I fit into the Shelby Recaros at the track attack in Utah - probably because they were broken down from so many drivers. However, generally I end up on top of the bolsters because they are too narrow for me. I'm sure the Recaros are great if you are the exact right size for them. It's too bad...

Dark Horse Mustang in different colors sketches posted by Ford Performance

I'm 6'4" 200 lbs and the seats are small for me as well. My lats don't fit between the bolsters on the seat back and the seat bottom is also slightly too narrow. I do agree that the Mustang is designed to fit man-sized people, but I wish the seats would fit me a little better. Personally I...

Would You Consider a Smaller Foxbody Inspired Mustang?

True - you said that you believe Ford stockholders would want Ford to only make the car with the best ROI. So I guess you didn't really say it. You just said that someone else would say it. Either way, I still think Ford did well with the GT. They won Le Mans and got a lot of publicity from...

Should There Be a Trim Level Between GT and DH?

Not even close. Those engines only made about 300 HP. But they actually were pretty good as a less expensive option.

Should There Be a Trim Level Between GT and DH?

That's why I suggested an NA 3.7 V6. It would actually weigh less than the 5.0 and possibly less than the 2.3 T. And it is a lot less complicated and less expensive than having twin turbos on a smaller 6 cylinder engine.

Should There Be a Trim Level Between GT and DH?

I think the DH should BE the GT performance package. The extra naming and styling are extra costs on Ford's side that I think they should skip and pass the savings on to their customers. I agree with being able to delete all the items you don't want for street driving as an available option...

Would You Consider a Smaller Foxbody Inspired Mustang?

Sorry, but I'm going to pull a @6String on you. Review what you just wrote. You want Ford to make F150 and nothing else? That's the vehicle with the best ROI. Anyway - I get your point about stockholders, but I think when a car company just focuses on the bottom line their reputation falls...

Silver 2024 Mustang GT S650 spotted

I think it looks good, but I do wish Ford engineers had worked a little harder to decrease the size of the front and rear overhangs. If I buy a Mustang, it's not for practicality and a large trunk. It's for performance first and looks second. Umm, what? Yes, I noticed that right away. The...

2023 Mustang Dark Horse S650 display @ 2022 LA Auto Show

The paint color is really cool with a lot of flop and everything. The only problem I see is that there are a lot of angles on the car, so it looks like the colors of the different panels don't match. It was especially annoying me on the hood to the front bumper cover adjacent to the hood...

2024 Mustang GT "Looks Much Better In Person!" (Walkaround Video @ LA Auto Show)

I agree with you on the double wishbone thing. Heck, 911s don't even have double wishbones until recently. The EV problems are almost completely around batteries. Batteries are too expensive, take too long to charge and don't last long enough. I agree there are charging issues too, but those...

Would You Consider a Smaller Foxbody Inspired Mustang?

Yes sales are low. They are selling every car that is produced, though. Sales are limited by production numbers. It would be nice if they were making more cars for sure. In order to get one I had to put money down to reserve a car while it was still in the production pipeline, wait two...

Would You Consider a Smaller Foxbody Inspired Mustang?

You could also look at the GR86, which is selling well and is smaller than the Camaro. A lot smaller. I think the Camaro did poorly due to poor looks and a poor design. Can't see out of it. Can't fit much in the trunk. Can't fit a large beverage through the mail slot windows. But hey, the...

Would You Consider a Smaller Foxbody Inspired Mustang?

It's fine for a winter car and daily driver that spends most of its time in traffic. It will break my snow tires loose at 45 mph on a freeway on-ramp, even with relatively warm temperatures and no salt on the roads. Would I prefer more power? Yes, yes I would. But I would also prefer more...

Would You Consider a Smaller Foxbody Inspired Mustang?

I would buy a small, light weight, rear wheel drive, manual transmission car. 100%. I don't like the Toyota or Subaru brands, but I bought the GR86 because that's the only reasonably priced car on the market that meets those requirements. I traded my FiST for it. I did like the FiST a lot...

Thoughts on the Dark Horse Name

Yes I agree and understand that the PP GT isn't set up to perform well on the road course. IMO it should have been. I've heard that the next gen Mustang might also have stiffer suspension in it, to which I say, "about time!" I have FP track handling kit on my 2017 GT PP1, and that suspension...

Thoughts on the Dark Horse Name

Yes DH is a replacement for the Mach 1, which made 480 hp I believe. And I think that was 20 HP more than the standard GT. I believe they are saying 500 for the DH, which is Mach 1 +20 HP. Yes I'm sure the DH will give a GT350 a run for its money on a road course. My opinion is that it...

Thoughts on the Dark Horse Name

I think the Dark Horse is a poor choice for a name. The Dark Horse should have been called Mustang GT. But Ford had to slap a "special" name on it and overcharge for it. They should save Dark Horse or some other oddball names for cars that have more of a performance differentiation from the...

    Mach 1/Dark Horse sightings

I have seen a couple Mach 1s in my neighborhood. I also see some GT350s occasionally. It's rare to even see an EB Mustang around here, though. It seems as though there are fewer and fewer Mustangs purchased in my state. I doubt I will see very many 24+ Mustangs, which makes me sad. I really...

Are you happy they switched to a steel oil pan?

I prefer metal over plastic. I think plastic is great if you trade your car every few years, but plastic and heat don't like each other. Over time my assumption is that the plastic won't hold up that well. But I would also prefer aluminum over steel, since steel will rust.
