True about the oil level. These also use a bit of oil, so check it regularly. We get 5.0 cars and trucks a few quarts low with all sorts of codes, topping off the oil resolves the problem. Most people today never check oil, tires or anything else.
Premium care is good! So much for those why say extended warranties are a waste of money... :)
I'd be curious to know how this works out, did the tell you what the code is?
Our normal diagnostic time for a check engine light is 24-48 hours. 5 days tells me something out of the ordinary is happening. VCTs can be replaced relatively easily. You will find that Ford does not pay for rental cars as part of the standard warranty. Your dealer may have dealer owned...
There are 4 VCT solenoid/sensors, each with its own code. If they are calling hotline, it is something more complex, or a combination of codes not seen before.
I work at a Ford dealer and I'm certain that no one in sales cares enough to even bother to find out. The most anybody would do be look at him and say well they're all that way that's how they're made and that would be the end of it. My suspicion is they were made that way for some ease of...
My car has the base brakes with the grey 4 piston front caliper that says MUSTANG and Brembo. Is anyone making a rear caliper cover that matches these front ones?
I read somewhere her that Job 2 car fender liners would not have the holes. Supposedly, Job 2 started with production after 12-4-23. We received two cars this week, one built 1-10-24, and the other built 1-16-24, and they both have front inner fender liners with the holes in them. Maybe they are...
I used the J&L from CJ Pony parts, but every one I've seen was pretty much the same. I've had a couple of JLT ones and liked them too. It literally snaps into place over the existing PCV ports, and uses an existing bolt for the bracket.
Did any of your friends at the factory send you any pics of it during the assembly process? That woule be beyond cool, and something that no one else has.
Good description, thanks. One of the instructors at the Lexus training center had a Porsche 944 that he tracked and he said that his would completely fill on a track day. That was the first I had ever heard of them, I knew what was causing the problems with the Lexus engines but didn't know what...
Oil separator, catch can, one that I installed in the PCV line that has a reservoir that traps oil vapor and keeps it from going into the throttle body. When I worked at Lexus we had a lot of problems with valves coming up from those deposits and the separator keeps that from happening.
I was checking under the hood today, and unscrewed the can from my separator to check it. In 800 miles, it had two tablespoons of thick, smelly black oil in it. Keeping this out of the engine has got to be a good thing!
2024 base GT, the map screen went orange and green at the bottom on startup, shut engine off and restarted and it was ok, only happened one time. No TSB or SSM in OASIS...
I had a strut Tower brace, oil separator, and resonator delete h-pipe already in my garage before my car arrived also! Mine came with the base 18 inch black wheels, I just don't like black wheels at all and I had a set of aftermarket ones on order that arrived the day after the car did.
I had...
I can't dispute anything in that article except life expectancy. We take in 50 cars a day, every day, and based on that, they do NOT last as long as a "regular" battery, and are on the average, $50 more to replace. The only variable here is that we are in Houston TX, and the extreme heat for 11...
A vehicle equipped with an AGM battery needs an AGM battery, I've had cars come in with regular lead acid batteries in place of AGMs that have had weird electrical poroblems because of that. I think the advice given above is good, keep it charged with a tender if not a daily driver.
For a period...
Regarding the batteries, I've not herard about them not being fully charged, or sitting or anyting like that, but we all think that the AGM batteries are crap, and I replace them 2/1 over lead acid ones.
The second night I had my car, I sat in it for 45 minutes with the key on and not running...
Count me as another one who'd have liked a paper manual. None availble from Ford, and Helm's website said no stock, so I tied up a printer long enought print the PDF off the Ford site, and punched it for a 3 ring binder, and now can look at it any time.
I work in service at a Ford dealer, the...
I can tell you that our dealership, we've had plenty of AGM battery issues. I know of three 24 mustangs in the last couple of months that we've had to put batteries in at very little mileage. With other vehicles like an F-150 usually the first symptom is the Auto stop start feature quits working...
