If Ford doesn't know why it happens, then they don't know if it's harmful... common sense. Doubt it'd be piston slap as that'd quiet down as the engine warms. Direct Injections engines quite the tick-tick beasts anyway... but odd its intermittent and some say, helped with oil additives.

Unless they've given the permission. There are radio companies that 'farm out' the vehicular version of their brand and allow their name stamped on it; its not unheard of. How many decent home audio brands have fair car audio... many. Not saying its true, just suspect. Could just be Brembo...
